Avocado bronze mite (ABM), Hirst (Trombidiformes: Tetranychidae) has potential for development in several plant species of agricultural importance. ABM is one of the most economically important pests in avocado cultivars, causing major damage to fruit and defoliation. At present, the control of ABM depends mainly on agrochemicals. Therefore, it is necessary to find alternatives to agrochemicals that can help minimize environmental impact and health risks for humans and mammals. The aim of this research was to assess the effect of different concentrations (5, 10, 50, 100, 250, 500, 1000 µg/mL) of ethanolic powdered extract of leaves against adult ABM females. The different concentrations of extract did not cause mortality of . Females treated with 5 and 1000 µg/mL of the extract showed a decrease in the number of eggs laid per female at 24 (5.17 and 1.27), 48 (5.07 and 1.17), and 72 h (4.97 and 0.80), compared to the control treatment (5.20, 6.60 and 6.87), respectively, which led to a reduction in the growth rate. Percentage of feeding damage decreased with the increasing concentration of the extract. The ethanolic powdered extract of leaf has potential to control .

Semiconductor metal oxide gas sensors are widely used to detect ethanol vapours, commonly used in industrial productions, road safety detection, and solvent production; however, they operate at extremely high temperatures. In this work, we present manganese dioxide nanorods (MnO NRs) prepared via hydrothermal synthetic route, carbon soot (CNPs) prepared via pyrolysis of lighthouse candle, and poly-4-vinylpyridine (P4VP) composite for the detection of ethanol vapour at room temperature. MnO, CNPs, P4VP, and MnO NRs-CNPs-P4VP composite were characterised using scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy.

A medicinal plant is any plant that in one or more of its organs contains substances that can be used by it or their constituent for therapeutic purposes. The present work was done to evaluate pharmacognostic, fluorescence, proximate and phytochemical analysis of ethanolic extracts of Cistanche tubulosa (Orobanchaceae) along with antimicrobial activity. Antimicrobial activity against four bacterial strains S.

The main aim of this study was to determine the potential bioaccessibility of bearberry phytochemicals influenced by the type of herbal preparations. Herbal preparations-powdered plant materials and dry extracts obtained using various ethanol concentrations (0%, 20%, 40%, 60%, 80%, and 100%) were subjected to simulated gastric or gastrointestinal digestion for the evaluation of the bioaccessibility of the phytochemicals. The phytochemical characterization of the plant material, dry extracts, and potentially bioaccessible fractions was performed using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and spectrophotometric assays.

This paper describes the methodology of the preparation and analyses of the structure and anticorrosion properties of silane coatings modified with poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) with phosphododecamolybdic acid (PMo). Protective coatings, consisting of vinyltrimethoxysilane (VTMS), PEDOT powder with PMo admixture (at different concentrations), and ethanol, were deposited on X20Cr13 and 41Cr4 steels by immersion. The physicochemical properties of these silane coatings (e.

Development of cocrystals through crystal engineering is a viable strategy to formulate poorly water-soluble active pharmaceutical ingredients as stable crystalline solid forms with enhanced bioavailability. This study presents a controlled cocrystallization process by cooling for the 1:1 cocrystal of Ketoconazole, an antifungal class II drug with the Fumaric acid coformer. This was successfully set up following the meta-stable zone width determination in acetone-water 4:6 (/) and pure ethanol.
