Published: July 2022

Confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) is one of the most prevalent fluorescence microscopy techniques for assessing the progression of cancer cells in three-dimensional structures, such as vasculogenic mimicry (VM). We show a basic approach for using DAPI and phalloidin dyes to detect the early stages of progression and VM of melanoma tumor cells grown in a 3D environment, as well as demonstrating how to acquire images and improve them by changing the software acquisition parameters.

Department of Restorative Dentistry, Dental Materials, and Endodontics, Bauru School of Dentistry, University of São Paulo, Rua Siqueira Campos, 180, Centro, Vitória da Conquista, Bauru, São Paulo, BA, ZIP: 45.000-455, Brazil.

Objective: This study investigated the associations among endodontic instruments, ultrasonic tips and various final irrigation protocols for removing intracanal and intratubular biofilms in long oval canals.

Methodology: One hundred mandibular premolars inoculated with Enterococcus faecalis were divided into two groups: the control group (CG: n = 10), which received no treatment; and the test groups (n = 30), which included saline (SS), sodium hypochlorite (2.5% NaOCl) and chlorhexidine (2% CHX).

Purpose: This research aimed to develop and assess a Lipiodol Pickering emulsion containing anti-Programmed cell Death Ligand 1 (PD-L1) antibodies through in vitro experiments.

Materials And Methods: The emulsion was created by combining Lipiodol with poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) nanoparticles and anti-PD-L1 antibodies. Confocal laser microscopy was used to evaluate the encapsulation of the antibodies within the Pickering emulsion.

Research of mesoporous silica loaded lignin to enhance the anti-corrosion and anti-weathering performance of epoxy surface.

A new type of filler was added to epoxy resin to prepare a composite coating with excellent corrosion and weathering resistance. The simple synthesis process and nonpolluting raw materials of this filler contribute to the development of green chemistry. Specifically, lignin was encapsulated in mesoporous silica, the synergistic effect between the two resulted in the formation of lignin/mesoporous silica composite particles (MSN-L) with excellent ultraviolet (UV) resistance.

Calliphoridae, or blow flies, are of much ecological and practical importance given their roles in decompositional ecology, medical and veterinary myiasis, and forensic entomology. As ephemeral and rapidly developing species, adults are frequently not present for identification, but puparia (the remaining outer integument of the third instar larvae) are frequently found. These heavily sclerotized remains are stable in the environment but they are of a conservative character.
