In this study, the risk analysis is used to determine the return period in which the design cost plus the damage risk cost is minimum. The damage includes the roads and traffic, the lawn areas, and the residential and commercial buildings. The traffic damage is based on two factors, time of delay and social negative impacts. The nonlinear reservoir model is used to convert the rainfall into runoff and the dynamic wave model is utilized to perform the network hydraulic simulation in stormwater management model (SWMM) software. This model is defined as an appropriate model. This model was applied in the risk analysis of a region in Tehran to obtain the optimal return period design. The results indicated that the optimal return period is 10 years. The rational method was also applied to the same region and same return period, but the total design cost of the rational method was greater by 5%. The damage due to the traffic include financial damages due to delays and loss of fuel resources in addition to the dissatisfaction of people due to the psychological burden.

Objective: Older adults are prone to unplanned emergency department (ED) return visits (URVs). Knowledge about patient perspectives on the preventability and reasons for these URVs is limited and lacks a representable ED study population. This study aims to determine the proportion of URVs and to explore the preventability and underlying causes as perceived by a wide range of older adults and their caregivers.

Background: The ALLFTD (ARTFL-LEFFTDS Longitudinal Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration) study is an NIH-funded effort to prepare for clinical trials in sporadic (s-FTLD) and familial (f-FTLD) FTLD syndromes by characterizing cohorts, developing new clinical trial outcome measures, and evaluating disease progression. To understand disease trajectories in the context of potential preventative or disease-modifying therapeutic agents, comprehensive evaluation across multiple time-points is crucial.
Method: ALLFTD evaluates participants with FTLD spectrum disorders (bvFTD, svPPA, nfvPPA, FTD-ALS, CBS, PSP), with strong family histories of FTLD, or known FTLD-associated genetic variants within the family.

Tool use to crack open palm nuts has been observed extensively in some capuchin monkey species. However, for southern black-horned capuchin monkeys (Sapajus nigritus cucullatus), there is only one published record of stone tool use from the 1990s, from an urban park in Londrina, Brazil. In the present study, we returned to this urban park to systematically investigate the hammer-and-anvil sites used to crack nuts by this capuchin monkey population.

Background: Institutions of higher education (IHE) have been a focus of SARS-CoV-2 transmission studies but there is limited information on how viral diversity and transmission at IHE changed as the pandemic progressed.
Methods: Here we analyze 3606 viral genomes from unique COVID-19 episodes collected at a public university in Seattle, Washington from September 2020 to September 2022.
Results: Across the study period, we found evidence of frequent viral transmission among university affiliates with 60% (n = 2153) of viral genomes from campus specimens genetically identical to at least one other campus specimen.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) is typically classified as prerenal, renal, or postrenal in etiology, with postrenal often referring to obstructive causes. However, certain uncommon conditions, such as intraperitoneal urinary leaks, may not fit clearly into these categories. In patients with a recent history of pelvic procedure, a complication such as intraperitoneal urinary leak can mimic AKI due to urine reabsorption across the peritoneum.
