CaiB is a DR cluster actinobacteriophage that was isolated from soil in Florida using Gordonia rubripertincta NRRL B-16540 as the host. The genome is 61,620 bp, has a GC content of 68.6%, and contains 85 predicted protein coding genes. CaiB has several putative operons and has repeated intergenic regions that may be involved in gene regulation.

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a highly prevalent disease associated with an increased risk of comorbidities, premature death, and health costs. Prediabetes is a stage of glucose alteration previous to T2DM, that can be reversed. The aim of the study is to develop and evaluate a low-intensity, multifaceted, digital intervention to prevent T2DM.

By rational assembly of polytorsional-amide [,'-bis(4-methylenepyridin-4-yl)-1,4-naphthalene dicarboxamide (L)] and polytorsional-carboxylates [HADI = adipic acid, HPIM = pimelic acid, HSUB = suberic acid], three new Cd-based coordination polymers (CPs) CHCdNO (1), CHCdNO (2) and CHCdClNO (3) were successfully synthesized. CPs 1-2 and 3 are 2D networks and a 3D framework, which all display 3,5-connected topologies with different structural details. The effects of carboxylates with different carbon chains on the structure of the complexes were studied.

Pharmacist-led intervention on potentially inappropriate prescription in patients with polypharmacy: PHARM-PC clinical trial protocol.

Farm Hosp

June 2021

Department of Pharmacology, Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical technology, Universidade de Santiago de Compostela, Santiago de Compostela (A Coruña). Spain..

Objective: Polypharmacy and potentially inappropriate medications (that  is, those associated with an unfavorable risk-benefit ratio) are common concerns in the context of elderly patients treated in primary care as they may increase the risk of morbidity and mortality, as well as  healthcare costs. Several studies have assessed the impact of pharmacist- led systematic reviews with respect to prescription appropriateness, health outcomes and/or costs. However, no cluster-randomized controlled  trial has been identified that provides an overall assessment of these  variables.
