Infective endocarditis used to frequently cause mortality in subjects having PDA before the advent of antibiotics and surgical ligation. It has been documented that clinically silent PDAs may cause infective complications of heart valves. We present case of an 18-years-old male who presented with palpitations and fever to our emergency department.

Background: Dengue virus (DENV) infection, a mosquito-borne disease, presents a significant public health challenge globally, with diverse clinical manifestations. Although oral dengue manifestations are uncommon, they can serve as crucial diagnostic indicators and impact patient management in dental practice. This scoping review aims to map the evidence on the oral manifestations associated with DENV infection and their clinical implications for dental practice.

Dengue infection has been associated with oxidative stress (OS) induction; however, whether such a response predicts the development of complications remains unknown. We conducted a case-control study (1:2 ratio) nested within a cohort of febrile patients with a presumptive or confirmed diagnosis of dengue. Incident cases were patients who developed hypotension or severe bleeding during the follow-up, whereas controls did not.

According to WHO, dengue fever (DF) is currently endemic to more than 100 countries in various regions of Africa, America, and Asia; outbreaks have been reported in Europe. In the Russian Federation, there is a much smaller proportion of children among those infected due to the imported nature of the infection. We described a clinical case of imported dengue fever in an adolescent girl in Moscow after a 5-day vacation.
