Mesityl-Functionalized Multi-Resonance Organoboron Delayed Fluorescent Frameworks with Wide-Range Color Tunability for Narrowband OLEDs.

Polycyclo-heteraborin multi-resonance (MR) emitters are promising for high color-purity organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs). Here, unlike the most common heteroatom ternary-doped (X/B/N) frameworks, a binary-doped (B/N) skeleton is reported with a large energy band for wide-range color tunability. Based on this parent-segment, a "one-pot" catalyst-free borylation method is developed which generates deep blue to pure green MR emitters from readily available starting materials, with peaks at 426-532 nm and full-width-at-half-maxima of 27-38 nm. Impressively, a maximum external quantum efficiency of nearly 40 % is recorded for the corresponding device with Commission Internationale de l'Eclairage coordinates of (0.14, 0.16), representing the state-of-the-art performances. This work presents a new paradigm and synthesis of B/N-doped MR emitters and will motivate the study of other novel frameworks.

Many theories on cognitive effort start from the assumption that cognitive effort can be expended at will, and flexibly up- or down-regulated depending on expected task demand and rewards. However, while effort regulation has been investigated across a wide range of incentive conditions, few investigated the cost of effort regulation itself. Across four experiments, we studied the effects of reward expectancy and task difficulty on effort expenditure in a perceptual decision-making task (random-dot-motion) and a cognitive control task (colour-naming Stroop), and within each task comparted cues between short (cueing the next trial) and long (cueing the next six trials) prediction horizons.

Introduction: In Michigan, the COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted Black and Latinx communities. These communities experienced higher rates of exposure, hospitalizations, and deaths compared to Whites. We examine the impact of the pandemic and reasons for the higher burden on communities of color from the perspectives of Black and Latinx community members across four Michigan counties and discuss recommendations to better prepare for future public health emergencies.
