A Yu-Shiba-Rusinov (YSR) state is a localized in-gap state induced by a magnetic impurity in a superconductor. Recent experiments used an STM tip to manipulate the exchange coupling between an Fe adatom and the FeTe_{0.55}Se_{0.45} superconductor possessing a Z_{2} nontrivial band structure with topological surface states. As the tip moves close to the single Fe adatom, the energy of the in-gap state modulates and exhibits a zero-energy crossing followed by an unusual return to zero energy, which cannot be understood by coupling the magnetic impurity to the superconducting topological surface Dirac cone. Here, we numerically and analytically study the YSR states in superconductors with nontrivial Z_{2} bands and show the emergence of the two zero-energy crossings as a function of the exchange coupling between the magnetic impurity and the bulk states. We analyze the role of the topological surface states and compare in-gap states to systems with trivial Z_{2} bands. The spin polarization of the YSR states is further studied for future experimental measurement.

Background: This study aims to detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC) DNA in intraocular fluid from clinically suspected tuberculous uveitis patients using multiplex polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and investigate the diagnostic utility of multiplex PCR for tuberculous uveitis.

Methods: Primers targeting three specific genes (MPB64, CYP141, and IS6110) within the MTBC genome were designed. Multiplex PCR was conducted using DNA from the H37Rv strain as well as DNA extracted from fluids of confirmed tuberculosis patients to assess primer specificity and method feasibility.

Photofragmentation and fragment analysis; Coriolis interactions in excited states of CH.

Methyl radicals in their ground state (CH(X)) were created and excited by two- and one- color excitation schemes for CHBr and CHI, respectively, to record (2+1) REMPI spectra of CH for resonant transitions to the Rydberg states CH**(pA); = 3, 4. Various new and previously observed vibrational bands were identified and analyzed to gain energetic information for the Rydberg states. Particular emphasis was placed on analysis of the rotational structured spectra centered at 70 648 and 60 700 cm, due to transitions from to and for both Rydberg states, respectively.

2D materials showcase unconventional properties emerging from quantum confinement effects. In this work, a "soft chemical" route allows for the deintercalation of K from the layered antimonide KVSb, resulting in the discovery of a new metastable 2D-Kagome antimonide KVSb with a van der Waals gap of 3.2 Å.

Kagome-lattice crystal is crucial in quantum materials research, exhibiting unique transport properties due to its rich band structure and the presence of nodal lines and rings. Here, we investigate the electronic transport properties and perform first-principles calculations for NiInSekagome topological semimetal. First-principles calculations of the band structure without the inclusion of spin-orbit coupling (SOC) shows that three bands are crossing the Fermi level (), indicating the semi-metallic nature.

Monolayer V_{2}MX_{4}: A New Family of Quantum Anomalous Hall Insulators.

We theoretically propose that the van der Waals layered ternary transition metal chalcogenide V_{2}MX_{4} (M=W, Mo; X=S, Se) is a new family of quantum anomalous Hall insulators with sizable bulk gap and Chern number C=-1. The large topological gap originates from the deep band inversion between spin-up bands contributed by d_{xz}, d_{yz} orbitals of V and spin-down band from d_{z^{2}} orbital of M at the Fermi level. Remarkably, the Curie temperature of monolayer V_{2}MX_{4} is predicted to be much higher than that of monolayer MnBi_{2}Te_{4}.
