Newborns infected with SARS-CoV2 infection develop different symptoms in comparison with adults, but one thing is clear: some of the most common manifestations include cough and other respiratory symptoms that need to be evaluated. In these cases, lung ultrasound is a useful imaging technique that can evaluate the newborns' lung damage caused by COVID-19 pneumonia and can be used for the surveillance of the patients as well, being non-irradiating and easy to use. Nineteen neonates who were confirmed as having SARS-CoV2 infection were investigated using this imaging tool, and the results were compared and correlated with their symptoms and biomarkers. The mean of LUSS was 12.21 ± 3.56 (S.D), while the 95% CI for the arithmetic mean was 10.49-13.93. The difference of an independent -test between the LUSS for the patient who presented cough and the LUSS for the patient without cough was -4.48 with an associated -value of = 0.02. The Pearson's correlation coefficient r = 0.89 ( = 0.03, 95% CI 0.0642 to 0.993) between the LUSS and IL-6 level showed a positive strong correlation. This reliable correlation between lung ultrasound score and inflammatory markers suggests that LUS could be used for monitoring inflammatory lung diseases in the future.

Using Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), it is possible to show chemical composition of materials and / or profile chemical changes occurring in tissues, cells, and body fluids during onset and progression of diseases. For diagnostic application, the use of blood would be the most appropriate in biospectroscopy studies since, (i) it is easily accessible and, (ii) enables frequent analyses of biochemical changes occurring in pathological states. At present, different studies have investigated potential of serum, plasma and sputum being alternative biofluids for lung cancer detection using FTIR.

Small-scale continuum robots hold promise for interventional diagnosis and treatment, yet existing models struggle to achieve small size, precise steering, and visualized functional treatment simultaneously, termed an "impossible trinity". This study introduces an optical fiber-based continuum robot integrated imaging, high-precision motion, and multifunctional operation abilities at submillimeter-scale. With a slim profile of 0.

Introduction: Patients receiving renal transplants have weakened immune systems and are more vulnerable to lung infections.
Objectives: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) in detecting pneumocystis carinii in renal transplant patients presenting with pulmonary infection in a tertiary care transplant center, keeping bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) as the gold standard.
Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted at the Department of Radiology, Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplant, Karachi, from February 14, 2023, to August 13, 2023.

Background: Bronchial artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare vascular disorder, and cases of bronchial pseudoaneurysms reported after lung surgery are even rarer. The number of reported cases is very limited due to the unclear pathogenesis, lack of diagnostic criteria and treatment guidelines, and nonspecific clinical manifestations.
Case Presentation: The paper reports a case of a patient with primary lung adenocarcinoma who developed hemoptysis, chest and back pain, and right hemothorax after lobectomy.

Background: The detection of tumor localization is difficult in robotic surgery because surgeons have no sense of touch and rely on visual information. This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy of preoperative CT-guided dye marking of lung nodules prior to robotic surgery.
Methods: Patients undergoing CT-guided dye marking prior to robotic surgery at our hospital between September 2019 and April 2024 were retrospectively analyzed.
