Implicit sequence learning represents an established paradigm to investigate incidental skill acquisition in a laboratory environment. During a covert task, participants respond to the location of a target appearing over a series of locations according to a complex sequence, which gets violated in a reduced set of control trials. Even though participants are not fully aware of the sequence, they respond faster and more accurately to trials following it, thus expressing sequence knowledge. Recent evidence has challenged the view that such knowledge is applied rigidly and affects performance independently from control influences. Jiménez et al. (2009) highlighted that its expression gets reduced immediately after trials not conforming with the learned sequence-an effect that resembles the congruency sequence effect (CSE) commonly observed in interference tasks. However, such effects can also be alternatively explained in associative terms. In this experimental series we took advantage of the well-known attentional properties of oddball sounds and introduced them as an orthogonal variable with respect to the learning process. We found that oddball sounds also hindered the automatic expression of sequence learning, highlighting an oddball-dependent sequence effect similar to the CSE, but most clearly triggered by cognitive control. Moreover, as illustrated through a simulation with a simple recurrent network (SRN), we showed that the CSE reported in this article under noisier conditions is harder to expect from associative processes. Purpose: Intra-pancreatic fat deposition (IPFD) is closely associated with the onset and progression of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). We aimed to develop an accurate and automated method for assessing IPFD on multi-echo Dixon MRI.
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study, 534 patients from two centers who underwent upper abdomen MRI and completed multi-echo and double-echo Dixon MRI were included.

Purpose: To evaluate the application of multi-parametric MRI (MP-MRI) combined with radiomics in diagnosing and grading endometrial fibrosis (EF).
Methods: A total of 74 patients with severe endometrial fibrosis (SEF), 41 patients with mild to moderate fibrosis (MMEF) confirmed by hysteroscopy, and 40 healthy women of reproductive age were prospectively enrolled. The enrolled data were randomly stratified and divided into a train set (108 cases: 28 healthy women, 29 with MMEF, and 51 with SEF) and a test set (47 cases: 12 healthy women, 12 MMEF and 23 SEF) at a ratio of 7:3.

Next-generation sequencing has revealed the disruptive reality that advanced/metastatic cancers have complex and individually distinct genomic landscapes, necessitating a rethinking of treatment strategies and clinical trial designs. Indeed, the molecular reclassification of cancer suggests that it is the molecular underpinnings of the disease, rather than the tissue of origin, that mostly drives outcomes. Consequently, oncology clinical trials have evolved from standard phase 1, 2, and 3 tissue-specific studies; to tissue-specific, biomarker-driven trials; to tissue-agnostic trials untethered from histology (all drug-centered designs); and, ultimately, to patient-centered, N-of-1 precision medicine studies in which each patient receives a personalized, biomarker-matched therapy/combination of drugs.

Aim: From the perspective of cognitive load theory, the present study examined the relative effectiveness of the sequential use of L1 and bilingual subtitles on incidental English vocabulary learning.
Methods: A total of 162 upper-intermediate Chinese learners of English as a foreign language watched an English clip in one of 4 subtitling conditions: L1-bilingual, bilingual-bilingual, L2-L2, and no subtitles.
Results: Results suggested a statistically significant advantage for the L1-bilingual condition over other conditions for word form and meaning recall.

Protein structure holds immense potential for pathogenicity prediction, albeit structure-based predictors are limited compared to the sequence-based counterparts due to the "structure knowledge gap" between large number of available protein sequences and relatively limited number of structures. Leveraging the highly accurate protein structures predicted by AlphaFold2 (AF2), we introduce AFFIPred, an ensemble machine learning classifier that combines sequence and AF2-based structural characteristics to predict missense variant pathogenicity. Based on the assessments on unseen datasets, AFFIPred reached a comparable level of performance with the state-of-the-art predictors such as AlphaMissense.
