We report a simple metal ion-catechol coordination strategy to coat ruthenium-catechol polymer complex (TAC-Ru) on the surface of carbon nanotubes (CNT) to form a core-shell structure (abbreviated as CNT@TAC-Ru). This is achieved by firstly polymerizing catechol and boronic acid monomers on the surface of CNT to form a boronate ester polymer (BP) shell. Then, Ruis used to etch the BP shell, and cleave the dynamic boronate ester bond, leading to the formation of a CNT@ruthenium-catechol coordination complex based on the coordinative efficiency of the catechol group. The electrocatalytic property of the CNT@TAC-Ru composite can be activated through electrochemical cycling treatment. The as-activated CNT@TAC-Ru exhibits evidently improved hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) performance with an overpotential of 10 mV in 1.0 M KOH at a current density of 10 mA cm, which is better than that of commercial Pt/C (32 mV). And the long-term stability is also desirable. This work provides a pyrolysis-free method to form metal-polymer-carbon composite with high HER performance under the alkaline condition.

The compression behavior of iron oxyhydroxide ε-FeOOH is complex, with variations in its magnetic property and bonding character. In this study, in situ powder neutron diffraction experiments were conducted on ε-FeOOH and ε-FeOOD up to pressures exceeding 20 GPa to investigate a spin-reorientation (spin-flop) transition, hydrogen-bond (H-bond) symmetrization, and their correlation. The magnetic transition was observed at 8 GPa in both ε-FeOOH and ε-FeOOD.

Coordinating the downstream ecological demand and the power generation demand of hydropower stations is an important task in the operation of reservoirs, and how to evaluate the ecological satisfaction of the scheduling process is a difficult problem that needs to be solved urgently. A multi-objective optimal reservoir scheduling model was constructed to coordinate the spawning flow demand of " Four Major Chinese Carps"; The model takes the maximum power generation and the maximum membership degree of downstream river ecological water demand as the objective functions, and uses the dynamic programming multi-objective solution algorithm based on penalty factors to solve the problem, and obtains the non-inferior solution set in each scenario. The multilayer entropy-weighted TOPSIS method was used to study the non-inferior solution of the multi-objective scheduling model of the Three Gorges Reservoir, and the satisfactory solution ranking of the river flow rise process, ecological flow-related requirements, and power generation water requirements was obtained under the four schemes including 4d ~ 7d, which improved the reliability of the evaluation results and made up for the shortcomings of the traditional TOPSIS method in terms of hierarchy and weight science.
