Shipping emissions have been considered a significant source of air pollution in the cities along the Yangtze River, with severe impacts on the climate and human health. This study created a complete annual ship emission inventory for the middle reaches of the Yangtze River and assessed its impact on air quality on a regional scale. To estimate the complete emissions, 9 main engine power regression models for different ship types were created to handle those vessels with absent main power data, and a high spatial-temporal resolution annual emission inventory was developed with the activity-based method combined with Automatic Identification System (AIS) data of the full year of 2018. The total emissions of CO, CO, SO, NO, PM, PM and HC in middle reaches of the Yangtze River were 5.67 × 10, 1.02 × 10, 5.41 × 10, 1.06 × 10, 2.43 × 10, 2.45 × 10 and 3.52 × 10 tons respectively. Then, the Weather Research and Forecasting with Chemistry (WRF-Chem) model was used to study the dispersion of the ship pollutants in the atmosphere and quantize the impact on the urban area. This research will provide services for the maritime authorities to develop green shipping and emission supervision.

To improve the performance of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) multi-label systems, the multi-label network structure needs to be quickly located and optimized. A multi-label location measurement method based on the NLM-Harris algorithm is proposed in this paper. Firstly, multi-label geometric distribution images are obtained through a label image acquisition system of a multi-label semi-physical simulation platform with two vertical Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) cameras, and Gaussian noise is added to the image to simulate thermoelectric interference.

Strength Tests and Mechanism of Composite Stabilized Lightweight Soil Using Dredged Sludge.

Materials (Basel)

January 2025

School of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Environment, Hubei University of Technology, Wuhan 430068, China.

To achieve resourceful utilization of dredged sludge, lightweight treatment was performed on sludge from Xunsi River in Wuhan using fly ash, cement, and expanded polystyrene (EPS) particles. Density tests and unconfined compressive strength (UCS) tests were conducted on the composite stabilized sludge lightweight soil to determine the optimal mix ratio for high-quality roadbed fill material with low self-weight and high strength. Subsequently, microstructural tests, including X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), were conducted.

Malic acid is the major organic acid in loquat fruit, contributing to the sourness of fruit and affecting fruit flavor. However, the transcriptional regulation of malic acid in loquat is not well understood. Here, we discovered a MADS-box transcription factor (TF), EjAGL18, that regulated malic acid accumulation in loquat.

The spore wall of microsporidia is the initial structure to contact the host cell directly, which may play a crucial role in the infection process. Currently, several spore wall proteins have been identified in microsporidia, but only two spore wall proteins from have been characterized.
