Background: Declining motor abilities might be a noninvasive biomarker for Alzheimer's disease (AD). Studying motor ability and AD progression in younger Latinos with autosomal dominant Alzheimer's disease (ADAD) can provide insights into the interplay between motor ability and cognition in individuals with minimal confounding from age-normative changes and comorbid medical conditions.
Objectives: This study aimed to (1) examine motor abilities as a function of years to dementia diagnosis and (2) examine associations between motor ability and cognitive performance.

Purpose: In effortful listening conditions, speech perception and adaptation abilities are constrained by aging and often linked to age-related hearing loss and cognitive decline. Given that older adults are frequent communication partners of individuals with dysarthria, the current study examines cognitive-linguistic and hearing predictors of dysarthric speech perception and adaptation in older listeners.
Method: Fifty-eight older adult listeners (aged 55-80 years) completed a battery of hearing and cognitive tasks administered via the National Institutes of Health Toolbox.

The E2 ubiquitin (Ub)-conjugating enzyme primarily determines Ub conjugation as Ub-isopeptide (lysine), Ub-oxyester (serine/threonine) or Ub-thioester (cysteine). However, E2-specific Ub conjugation profiles within cells remain elusive. Here we developed the fusion E2-Ub-R74G profiling (FUSEP) strategy to access E2-specific Ub conjugation profiles in cells with amino acid resolution.

Dissection of the physiological interactomes of histone post-translational modifications (hPTMs) is crucial for understanding epigenetic regulatory pathways. Peptide- or protein-based histone photoaffinity tools expanded the ability to probe the epigenetic interactome, but in situ profiling in native cells remains challenging. Here, we develop a nucleus-targeting histone-tail-based photoaffinity probe capable of profiling the hPTM-mediated interactomes in native cells, by integrating cell-permeable and nuclear localization peptide modules into an hPTM peptide equipped with a photoreactive moiety.

Background: Facial emotion recognition is one of the significant domains of social cognition that underlie social interactions. These deficits can influence the functional outcome in individuals with schizophrenia by impairing judgment toward others and reducing their capability to function. We aimed to assess the facial emotion recognition deficits in individuals with schizophrenia in comparison to healthy individuals and find their association with clinical and demographic profiles.
