Mast cell tumors (MCT) are among the most common neoplasia in dogs, representing up to 21 % of skin tumors. However, etiology and risk factors for its development remain unclear. Bacteriophage-derived dsRNA (bp-dsRNA), also known as Larifan, is a poly-functional and wide-spectrum antiviral medication with potent interferonogenic activity. In the lungs of golden Syrian hamsters infected with SARS-CoV-2, Larifan substantially reduces viral load and decreases infection-induced pathological lesion severity. Alveolar macrophages (AM) are key sentinel cells in the lung, which play an important role in antiviral innate immune responses and, at the same time, can trigger infection-associated hyper-inflammatory response.

Eastern Finnic populations, including Karelians, Veps, Votes, Ingrians, and Ingrian Finns, are a significant component of the history of Finnic populations, which have developed over ~3 kya. Yet, these groups remain understudied from a genetic point of view. In this work, we explore the gene pools of Karelians (Northern, Tver, Ludic, and Livvi), Veps, Ingrians, Votes, and Ingrian Finns using Y-chromosome markers (N = 357) and genome-wide autosomes (N = 67) and in comparison with selected Russians populations of the area (N = 763).

Background: Hypereosinophilic syndromes (HES) are a heterogenous group of eosinophilic disorders. To date, only retrospective studies of limited sample-size and/or follow-up duration are available.
Methods: The COHESion study is a national prospective multicenter multidisciplinary cohort recruiting both adults or children with the spectrum of eosinophilic disorders (including reactive HE/HES [HE/HES-R], idiopathic HES [HES-I], lymphocytic HES [HES-L], neoplastic HE/HES [HE/HES-N], HE of unknown significance [HE-US], as well as IgG4-related disease [IgG4RD] or ANCA-negative eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis [EGPA] overlaps).
