Background: Hepatoblastoma (HB) is the most common malignant solid tumor of the liver in children and is a fatal disease with a poor prognosis. Therefore, indicators that can be used for the early prediction of the HB prognosis are necessary. Sodium glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) is a glucose transporter protein present in the proximal renal tubules.

Article Synopsis
  • - Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a significant public health issue globally and is the third most common cancer, with limited epidemiological data in northern Morocco; this study aims to fill that gap by examining CRC characteristics in the region.
  • - The retrospective study at the Ahmed Ben Zayed Al Nahyan Regional Oncology Center identified 142 CRC patients from 2017 to 2019, revealing a mean age of 58 years, predominantly affected males, and a high incidence of rectal tumors (44%).
  • - Most patients were diagnosed at advanced stages (83%), with liver metastasis being the most common, highlighting the need for larger studies to better understand CRC's impact in Morocco and inform future interventions.

Background: This study aims to analyze potential differences in clinicopathology, efficacy of neoadjuvant therapy (NAT), and clinical outcome among HER2-null, HER2-ultralow and HER2-low breast cancers.

Methods: Consecutive cases of HER2-negative breast cancer that received NAT were included. They were classified as HER2-null (no staining), HER2-ultralow (incomplete faint staining in ≤ 10% of tumour cells) and HER2-low (HER2-1 + or HER2-2+, in situ hybridisation negative).

Introduction: A growing body of strong evidence shows that the dysfunction of miRNAs plays key roles in the development and progression of Parkinson's disease (PD), however, little data has been reported on the association of their SNPs with PD susceptibility. In this study, we investigated the association of regulatory miR-SNP rs4636297A > G with a functional effect on the expression of miRNA-126, as a key dysregulated miRNA in the PD, with the susceptibility and clinical features of the PD.

Methods And Materials: In current study, we included a population consisting of 120 patients with PD and 120 clinically healthy individuals, and their blood samples were taken.
