This study was aimed at analyzing the injury of anal sphincter (AS) for primipara caused by the vaginal delivery and cesarean section under the guidance of three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound images. A total of 160 patients who underwent postpartum reexamination were enrolled as the research subjects, including 80 cases of natural delivery (group A) and 80 cases of cesarean section pregnant women (group B), all of whom underwent three-dimensional ultrasound imaging scans. At the same time, an optimized kernel regression reconstruction (KRR) algorithm was proposed for the enhancement of ultrasound images. It was found that the running time after acceleration by the graphics processing unit (GPU) was obviously superior to that of a single-threaded CPU and a multithreaded CPU, showing statistical differences ( < 0.05). The thickness of the proximal and distal external AS in group A was much thinner in contrast to that in group B, showing statistical difference ( < 0.05). Therefore, the 3D ultrasound image based on the optimized KRR algorithm can accurately assess the morphology of AS injury in primipara, and the adverse effect of natural delivery on the AS complex in primipara was greater than that of cesarean section.

The plane running between two adjacent pulmonary segments consists of a very thin layer of connective tissue through which the pulmonary vein also runs. To perform an anatomically correct segmentectomy, this segmental plane needs to be divided. Before the operation, the locations of vessels and bronchi are confirmed by three-dimensional computed tomography.

Background And Purpose: Tinnitus is a condition in which individuals perceive sounds, such as ringing or buzzing, without any external source. Although the exact cause is not fully understood, recent studies have indicated the involvement of nonauditory brain structures, including the limbic system. We aimed to compare the volumes of specific brain structures between patients with tinnitus and controls.

Background: Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, a complex three-dimensional spine deformity, presents a formidable challenge for orthopedic residents in understanding its anatomy and surgical strategies. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of three-dimensional printing (3DP) models in enhancing the comprehension of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis among orthopedic residents.

Methods: Forty orthopedic residents were randomly divided into two groups, the first group received lectures that were augmented with 3DP models illustrating five cases of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis, along with corresponding X-ray and CT images.

Objective: Currently, nasolabial folds are mainly removed by invasive procedures, resulting in long-lasting changes, as non-surgical user-implementable alternatives are scarce and inefficient. For example, the use of coating films for this purpose has thus far faced substantial difficulties because such films should combine the antithetical properties of shrinkability and flexibility. Herein, we challenge this status quo by identifying a polymer that simultaneously exhibits shrinkability and flexibility and using this polymer to develop a cosmetic formulation for immediate and non-invasive nasolabial fold removal.
