Hydrogen could be an important light element in planetary cores, but its effect on phase diagrams of iron alloys is not well known because the solubility of H in Fe is minimal at ambient pressure and high-pressure experiments on H-bearing systems have been challenging. Considering that silicon can be another major light element in planetary cores, here we performed melting experiments on the Fe-Si-H system at ~ 50 GPa and obtained the ternary liquidus phase relations and the solid/liquid partition coefficient, D of Si and H based on in-situ high-pressure X-ray diffraction measurements and ex-situ chemical and textural characterizations on recovered samples. Liquid crystallized hexagonal close-packed (hcp) (FeSi)H, which explains the observed density and velocities of the Earth's solid inner core. The relatively high D = 0.94(4) and D = 0.70(12) suggest that in addition to Si and H, the liquid outer core includes other light elements such as O, which is least partitioned into solid Fe and can thus explain the density difference between the outer and inner core. H and O, as well as Si, are likely to be major core light elements, supporting the sequestration of a large amount of water in the Earth's core.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Cholestatic liver injury (CLI) is a pathophysiological syndrome characterized by the accumulation of bile acids (BAs), which leads to significant hepatic dysfunction. This condition is frequently associated with disturbances in BAs homeostasis and the induction of oxidative stress. Ribes diacanthum Pall (RDP), a conventional folk medicinal plant, has been employed in Mongolia, the Inner Mongolia region of China, and other areas for the remediation of hepatic disorders.

Previous studies have suggested that the presence of human epididymal protein 4 (HE4) in pleural fluid can be used to diagnose malignant pleural effusion (MPE) with moderate accuracy. However, the factors that affect the diagnostic accuracy of HE4 remain unknown. This study aimed to examine how age and sex influence the diagnostic accuracy of HE4.

High-voltage (HV) cables are increasingly used in urban power grids, and their safe operation is critical to grid stability. Previous studies have analyzed various defects, including the open circuit in the sheath loop, the flooding in the cross-bonded link box, and the sheath grounding fault. However, there is a paucity of research on the defect of the reverse direction between the inner core and the outer shield of the coaxial cable.

The separation of large polar constituents presents a substantial challenge in natural product research when employing column chromatography techniques, as the process is both complex and time-consuming. In this study, an acetonitrile/tetrahydrofuran/di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid/aqueous saturated sodium chloride solvent system was developed and utilized for the countercurrent chromatography of polar constituents from L. seeds.
