Background: Reaching parenchymal segments of the lateral lenticulostriate artery (LSA) perforators, which represent the medial resection limit in insular gliomas (IG), remains a challenge. The currently described methods are indirect and sometimes, imprecise.
Methods: We report an antegrade direct skeletonization technique to identify these tiny arteries at the medial end of IGs with an illustrative case of grade 2 astrocytoma.

In the Iron Age, the Neo-Assyrian empire (c. 900-600 BC) conquered territory across southwest Asia and established regional capitals along its borders to secure its gains. Governors at these centers oversaw resource extraction and craft production for shipment to the imperial heartland in modern-day northern Iraq.

The literature associating the spread of SARS-CoV-2 with the healthcare-related, geographical, and demographic characteristics of the territory is inconclusive and contrasting. We studied these relationships during winter 2021/2022 in South Tyrol, a multicultural Italian alpine province, performing an ecological study based on the 20 districts of the area. Data about incidence, hospitalization, and death between November 2021 and February 2022 were collected and associated to territorial variables via bivariate analyses and multivariate regressions.

Purpose: The main objective of this study was to conduct a radioanatomical study of the osteo-myo-cutaneous scapulo-dorsal pedicled flap.
Methods: A radiological study was performed to study the anatomical variations of the dorsal scapular pedicle (origin, course of the deep branch of the dorsal scapular artery (DSA) in relation to the medial border of the scapula, perforators from the superficial branch of the DSA). Perforators from the superficial branch of the DSA were also identified on anatomical subjects, and their cutaneous vascular territory was determined.

Sensory processing of communication stimuli is essential for the survival of organisms across all evolutionary branches. Multimodal signaling, the use of multiple sensory systems is crucial in this process, but little is known about the relative importance of different senses used during aggression. We used the African cichlid fish, Astatotilapia burtoni, to test how visual and chemosensory signals in male-male interactions influence behavior.
