The life expectancy of patients with advanced cancer has been prolonged with the development of systemic treatment technology. Spinal metastasis is one of the common ways of metastasis of advanced tumors, leading to spinal cord compression and compression fractures, which often lead to a significant reduction in patients' quality of life and physical function. Therefore, surgical treatment is still needed for functional recovery and local control. Separation surgery has been known since 2014 when it was purposed. Combined with radiotherapy, it can achieve an ideal goal of local control. This paper gives a brief introduction to separation surgery, hoping to increase the reader's understanding and consider this method in the course of treatment.

In this work, the electrochemical biosensor based on the subtle combination of terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase (TdT), CRISPR/Cas14a, and magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) was developed for the detection of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC)-derived exosomes. Due to the synergistic effect of the following factors: the powerful elongation capacity of TdT for single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) with 3-hydroxy terminus, the outstanding trans-cleavage ability of CRISPR/Cas14a specifcally activated by the crRNA binding to target DNA, and the excellent separation ability of MNPs, the developed electrochemical biosensor exhibited high sensitivity for the detection of NPC-derived exosome, with a linear range from 6.0 × 10 ∼ 1.

Introduction: Total joint arthroplasties generally achieve good outcomes, but chronic pain and disability are a significant burden after these interventions. Acknowledging relevant risk factors can inform preventive strategies. This study aimed to identify chronic pain profiles 6 months after arthroplasty using the ICD-11 (International Classification of Diseases) classification and to find pre and postsurgical predictors of these profiles.

Background: Safe and effective pediatric blood pumps continue to lag far behind those developed for adults. To address this growing unmet clinical need, we are developing a hybrid, continuous-flow, magnetically levitated, pediatric total artificial heart (TAH). Our hybrid TAH design, the Dragon Heart (DH), integrates both an axial flow and centrifugal flow blood pump within a single, compact housing.

Transanal endoscopic microsurgery (TEM) is a minimally invasive approach for excising rectal polyps, particularly those with high-grade dysplasia (HGD) or early-stage rectal cancer (T1). This study aimed to evaluate the recurrence risk and its associated factors in patients treated with TEM for HGD and T1 rectal tumors. A retrospective review was conducted on 79 patients who underwent TEM for rectal lesions at Rabin Medical Center-Hasharon Hospital from 2005 to 2019.

The aim of our study is to separately investigate the outcomes, prognostic factors and recurrence patterns of G2 EEC and whether the differentiation between G1 and G2 EEC is clinically useful. we retrospectively reviewed 523 patients with EEC treated with primary surgery over a decade (March 2010-January 2020) at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, focusing on those with G2 disease.
