Article Synopsis
  • Osteosarcoma causes significant lung metastasis, leading to a low 5-year survival rate (20-30%), thus necessitating a reliable mouse model for research on better treatment options.
  • The study establishes a straightforward endotracheal injection technique to implant tumors in the lungs of mice, confirming proper placement with crystal violet dye and injecting osteosarcoma cells for tumor growth.
  • Results show a 100% success rate in dye injection and a 75% success in tumor detection in the lungs five weeks post-injection, indicating the method’s effectiveness for studying lung-metastatic osteosarcoma.
