The concepts of planetary boundaries are influential in the sustainability literature and assist in delineating the 'safe operating spaces' beyond which critical Earth system processes could collapse. Moving away from our current trajectory towards 'hothouse Earth' will require knowledge of how Earth systems have varied throughout the Holocene, and whether and how far we have deviated from past ranges of variability. Such information can inform decisions about where change could be resisted, accepted or where adaptation is inevitable.

Purpose: This systematic review aimed to identify and compare tools used to evaluate quality of life (QoL) after pelvic radiation for cervical cancer and to describe variations in results within commonly used instruments. This review hypothesized regional preferences in the selection of these tools and an absence of uniformity in their application globally.
Methods And Materials: A comprehensive search of 6 databases was conducted between the inception of each included database and June 14, 2023, focusing on studies evaluating the QoL of patients with cervical cancer during and after radiation.

Background: Hospital at home (HaH) care models have gained significant attention due to their potential to reduce healthcare costs, improve patient satisfaction, and lower readmission rates. However, the lack of a standardized classification system has hindered systematic evaluation and comparison of these models. Taxonomies serve as classification systems that simplify complexity and enhance understanding within a specific domain.

In a landscape of increasingly frequent and severe drug shortages, this article describes an interdisciplinary strategy for managing a nationwide shortage of dobutamine in an academic health system. The authors outline an approach that centers on leveraging information technology resources, minimizing waste, conserving supply, and centralizing supply. These efforts, which enabled the organization to consistently supply dobutamine to those patients who needed it most, could form a model for health systems to follow during future drug shortages.

The development of new therapeutic strategies such as immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and targeted therapies has increased the complexity of the treatment landscape for solid tumors. At the current rate of annual FDA approvals, the potential treatment options could increase by tenfold over the next 5 years. The cost of personalized medicine technologies limits its accessibility, thus increasing socioeconomic disparities in the treated population.
