Background: The combination of passive immune agents (human rabies immune globulin (HRIG) and equine rabies antiserum (ERA)) with vaccines are effective measures for preventing the onset of rabies post exposure. However, ERA and HRIG have potential risks of serum allergic reactions and blood-transmitted infectious diseases. This study compared the safety, pharmacokinetics and neutralizing activity of recombinant human anti-rabies monoclonal antibody NM57 injection (rhRIG, Ormutivimab) and HRIG in combination with rabies vaccine and vaccine alone.

In 2021, Enfortumab Vedotin (EV) was approved for the treatment of locally advanced and metastatic urothelial carcinoma (UC) in Japan. Some patients require withdrawal or dose reduction due to cutaneous symptoms associated with EV treatment. Currently, the only reported associations of EV with cutaneous symptoms are pre-treatment performance status (PS) and body weight.

Genetic variants in TMEM106B, coding for a transmembrane protein of unknown function, have been identified as critical genetic modulators in various neurodegenerative diseases with a strong effect in patients with frontotemporal degeneration. The luminal domain of TMEM106B can form amyloid-like fibrils upon proteolysis. Whether this luminal domain is generated under physiological conditions and which protease(s) are involved in shedding remain unclear.

The efficacy of antibody responses is inherently linked to paratope diversity, as generated through V(D)J recombination and somatic hypermutation. Despite this, it is unclear how genetic diversification mechanisms evolved alongside codon optimality and affect antibody expression. Here, we analyze germline immunoglobulin (IG) genes, natural V(D)J repertoires, serum IgG, and monoclonal antibody (mAb) expression through the lens of codon optimality.

Multiple myeloma (MM), also referred to as Kahler's disease, is a cancer characterized by the uncontrolled growth of abnormal plasma cells and is associated with alterations in the bone tissue microenvironment. Bone marrow adipose tissue (BMAT), which comprises approximately ten percent of total body fat, can influence the progression, survival, and drug resistance of MM cells through paracrine, hormonal, and metabolic pathways. Obesity can lead to an increase in BMAT mass, which not only disrupts bone metabolism but also reduces bone density, potentially progressing from monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance, a benign condition, to MM.
