The role of ligands in the regulation of the catalytic activity of Ni-complexes (Ni(acac)) in green process-selective ethylbenzene oxidation with O into α-phenyl ethyl hydroperoxide is considered in this article. The dual function of phenol (PhOH) included in the coordination sphere of the nickel complex as an antioxidant or catalyst depends on the ligand environment of the metal. The role of intermolecular H-bonds and supramolecular structures (AFM method) in the mechanisms of selective catalysis by nickel complexes in chemical and biological oxidation reactions is analyzed.

Background: The dual-cyclical relationship between language and cognition, encapsulated in linguistic relativity, underscores the reciprocal influence of thoughts on communication and vice-versa. This study explores the intricate changes in pragmatics, a fundamental aspect of human communication, during the aging process, considering changes in sensory abilities, cognition, and language.
Method: Sixty participants, aged ≥50 years with a minimum of five years of formal education, were included, excluding those with neurological or psychological illnesses.

Background: Adults with comorbidity of cognitive impairment and diabetes is common (19.9%-45.0%) and increasing; however, the evidence is lacking on non-pharmacological behavioral interventions to support cognitive health and diabetes management for individuals with both conditions.

Multiomics analysis of single tissue sections using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry imaging (MALDI-MSI) provides comprehensive molecular insights. However, optimizing tissue sample preparation for MALDI-MSI to achieve high sensitivity and reproducibility for various biomolecules, such as lipids, -glycans, and tryptic peptides, presents a significant challenge. This study introduces a robust and reproducible protocol for the comprehensive sequential analysis of the latter molecules using MALDI-MSI in fresh-frozen rodent brain tissue samples.
