Garlic () is a popular spice that has been widely used for thousands of years in traditional medicine. Several organosulfur compounds in garlic have been linked to its beneficial effects on health. Evidence from preclinical studies and clinical trials supports garlic's antihypertensive, antidiabetic, antiobesity, and hypolipidemic effects. This study aims to summarize clinical trial evidence regarding the effects of garlic on metabolic diseases and its mechanisms of action.
