Since its inception, endoscopy has evolved from a solely diagnostic procedure to an expanding therapeutic field within gastroenterology. The incorporation of robotics in gastroenterology initially addressed shortcomings of flexible endoscopes in natural orifice transluminal endoscopy. Developing therapeutic endoscopic robotic platforms now offer operators improved ergonomics, visualization, dexterity, precision, and control and the possibility of increasing proficiency and standardization of complex endoscopic procedures including endoscopic submucosal dissection, endoscopic full-thickness resection, and endoscopic suturing. The following review discusses the history, potential applications, and tools currently available and in development for robotics in therapeutic endoscopy.

Background: High morbidity and mortality make pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) one of the most complicated surgical procedures. This meta-analysis aimed to compare the outcomes of robotic pancreaticoduodenectomy (RPD) versus open pancreaticoduodenectomy (OPD).
Method: A comprehensive literature search of PubMed, Cochrane Central, and Google Scholar was conducted from inception to November 2024.

Introduction: Post-stroke movement disorders are common, especially upper limb dysfunction, which seriously affects the physical and mental health of stroke patients. With the continuous development of intelligent technology, robot-assisted therapy has become a research hotspot in the upper limb rehabilitation of stroke patients in recent years. Many scholars have also integrated robot-assisted therapy with other interventions to improve rehabilitation outcomes.

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are emerging as crucial biomarkers in cancer diagnostics and therapeutics with their heterogeneity presenting both challenges and opportunities in prostate cancer research. However, existing methods for isolating and characterizing EV subtypes have been limited by inefficient separation and inadequate proteomic analysis. Here we show an optimized centrifugal microfluidic device, Exodisc, that efficiently isolates large quantities of EV subtypes from particle-enriched medium, enabling comprehensive proteomic analysis of small (EV-S, 20-200 nm) and large (EV-L, >200 nm) EVs.

Background: This paper describes the rationale and design of the RECOVER study. Currently, there is no consensus regarding the optimal treatment for high-risk, non-metastatic prostate cancer (PCa). The study primarily aims to evaluate and compare the impact of treatment with robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RP) versus external beam radiation therapy (EBRT) with androgen deprivation therapy (ADT) for men with high-risk, non-metastatic PCa regarding health-related quality of life (HRQoL) and functional outcomes.

Background: Histotripsy is a non-invasive, non-ionizing, non-thermal focused ultrasound technique. High amplitude short acoustic pulses converge to create high negative pressures that cavitate endogenous gas into a bubble cloud leading to mechanical tissue destruction. In the United States, histotripsy is approved to treat liver tumors under diagnostic ultrasound guidance but in initial clinical cases, some areas of the liver have not been treated due to bone or gas obstructing the acoustic window for targeting.
