Technique for Minimally Invasive Face and Neck Contouring with Bipolar Radiofrequency Devices.

Plast Reconstr Surg

From the Dallas Plastic Surgery Institute; and the Division of Plastic Surgery, Baylor College of Medicine.

Published: August 2022

Radiofrequency devices have grown in popularity as minimally invasive options for the treatment of skin laxity in the face and neck. These treatments are often combined with liposuction procedures to provide enhanced tissue contraction alongside the reduction in adiposity. Proper patient selection and intraoperative technique are crucial to achieving the desired outcomes in a safe manner. In this article, the authors discuss their indications and technique for the treatment of the face and neck with bipolar radiofrequency devices.

Intratonsillar Immunotherapy: A Convenient and Effective Alternative to Subcutaneous Immunotherapy for Allergic Rhinitis.

Research (Wash D C)

Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) is the only treatment that addresses the root cause of immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated allergies, but conventional methods face challenges with treatment duration, patient compliance, and adverse effects. In this study, we propose intratonsillar immunotherapy (ITIT) as a new effective and safer route for AIT. Prior to clinical trials, we analyzed tonsil samples from human subjects to assess immune responses, measuring interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-21, total IgE (tIgE), and allergen-specific IgE concentrations using ELISA and BioIC.

Background: Orthodontic-orthognathic treatment is the standard of care for moderate and/or severe skeletal class III (SCIII) malocclusion. Following orthognathic surgery, morphological changes in the temporomandibular joint structures (TMJ) may contribute to condylar resorption (CR).

Objectives: This systematic review aimed to identify the morphological signs of condylar resorption (changes in the condylar head, position, neck, disk, and joint space) following orthognathic surgery in patients with SCIII compared with those with skeletal class II (SCII) malocclusion.

Dynamic definition liposculpture (HD2) is considered a highly sought after procedure in body sculpting surgery by patients. Radiofrequency microneedling is a cutting edge technology with evidence-based outcomes demonstrating skin tightening and retraction. These ancillary procedures complement and enhance the results of dynamic definition liposculpture.

Background: Radiofrequency-assisted (RF) facial rejuvenation has become a safe and reliable option for "treatment gap" patients, including (1) patients whose skin laxity is not severe enough to warrant a facelift, yet not mild enough to reliably treat with noninvasive procedures; (2) patients who have already undergone a face or neck lift and have recurrent laxity; and (3) patients who would benefit from a traditional face or neck lift but want to avoid surgery and are willing to accept a more modest improvement without extensive surgical scar burden and recovery.

Objectives: In this study we aimed to educate the reader about providing bipolar RF to various anatomic regions of the face.

Methods: A retrospective review of cases was conducted to assess the safety of zone-specific RF-assisted facial rejuvenation in S.

The cases of head and neck cancer among persons with intellectual disability (PWID) are infrequently reported and therefore poorly understood. PWID often face increased barriers of access to healthcare, which can be further compounded when faced with a cancer diagnosis. This report presents the case of a 34-year-old Chinese female patient with Rett syndrome and intellectual disability, presenting with two primary cancers of the tongue and the trachea.
