Penile squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) is a rare malignancy, which is known to invade local inguinal lymph nodes prior to progressing to the pelvis. Dynamic sentinel lymph node biopsy (DSLNB) is a standard for the minimally invasive assessment of lymphadenopathy in patients with subclinical groin metastasis. Hybrid Tc Single-Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT-CT) has been shown to increase the accuracy of identifying first draining "sentinel" nodes (SN). Unilateral inguinal visualization on SPECT-CT is a rare presentation, which may increase the likelihood of a false negative SN biopsy. Retrospective analysis from three-penile cancer uro-oncologists in Melbourne, Australia identified 78 groins undergoing DSLNB for intermediate/high risk primary disease. Unilateral SPECT-CT results were observed in four patients suggesting a functional pattern of lymph diversion. Analysis confirmed malignancy ( = 2), sarcoidosis ( = 1), and evidence of local inflammation in SPECT-CT negative groins. Findings re-iterate the role of SPECT-CT a pre-operative adjunct. Experienced multimodal groin assessment using palpation, SPECT-CT, lymphoscintigraphy, and blue dye tracking remains paramount. Unilateral SN on pre-operative SPECT-CT in men with intermediate/high-risk penile SCC should elicit a higher degree of clinical suspicion. We recommend a low threshold for recommending radical inguinal lymph node dissection (ILND) for groins refractory to minimally invasive assessment.

Background/objectives: Dithiocarbazates (DTCs) and their metal complexes have been studied regarding their property as anticancer activities. In this work, using S-benzyl-5-hydroxy-3-methyl-5-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-pirazol-1-carbodithionate (Hbdtc), we prepared [ReO(bdtc)(Hbdtc)] and [[Tc]TcO(bdtc)(Hbdtc)] complexes for tumor uptake and animal biodistribution studies.
Methods: Re complex was prepared by a reaction of H2bdtc and (NBu)[ReOCl], the final product was characterized by IR, H NMR, CHN, and MS-ESI.

Objective: The focus of this study was to assess the diagnostic effectiveness of Tc-MDP single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) in pinpointing medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ).
Methods: We gathered a total of 39 patients who were suspected of having MRONJ and displayed radionuclide concentration in the jaws on whole-body bone scans. These patients were subjected to simultaneous SPECT/CT fusion imaging of the jaws during delayed imaging.

To develop and validate a novel multidimensional readout method that significantly reduces the number of readout channels in PET detectors while maintaining high spatial and energy performance. Approach: We arranged a 3×3×4 SiPM array in multiple dimensions and employed row/column/layer summation with a resistor-based splitting circuit. We then applied denoising methods to enhance the peak-to-valley ratio in the decoding map, ensuring accurate crystal-position determination.

Purpose: Enhancing therapeutic effectiveness is crucial for translating anticancer nanomedicines from laboratory to clinical settings. In this study, we have developed radioactive rhenium oxide nanoparticles encapsulated in human serum albumin ([Re]ReO-HSA NPs) for concurrent radiotherapy (RT) and photothermal therapy (PTT), aiming to optimize treatment outcomes.
Methods: [Re]ReO-HSA NPs were synthesized by a controlled reduction of ReO in HSA medium and extensively characterized.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by motor and neuropsychiatric symptoms resulting from the loss of dopamine-producing neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc). Dopamine transporter scan (DATSCAN), based on single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), is commonly used to evaluate the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the striatum. This study aims to identify a biomarker from DATSCAN images and develop a machine learning (ML) algorithm for PD diagnosis.
