BAY 2413555 is a novel selective and reversible positive allosteric modulator of the type 2 muscarinic acetylcholine (M2) receptor, aimed at enhancing parasympathetic signaling and restoring cardiac autonomic balance for the treatment of heart failure (HF). This study tested the safety, tolerability and pharmacokinetics of this novel therapeutic option. REMOTE-HF was a multicenter, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, phase Ib dose-titration study with two active arms.

Background: Cochlear implants (CIs) have the potential to facilitate auditory restoration in deaf children and contribute to the maturation of the auditory cortex. The type of CI may impact hearing rehabilitation in children with CI. We aimed to study central auditory processing activation patterns during speech perception in Mandarin-speaking pediatric CI recipients with different device characteristics.

Background: Care dependency, inability to perform basic daily tasks without assistance due to functional impairment, increases substantially with accelerated population ageing and becomes a pressing public health concern worldwide. Socioeconomic disadvantage has been shown to be associated with elevated risks of care dependency, but how risks are modified by changes in socioeconomic position remains unclear. From a life course perspective, we investigated the association between socioeconomic mobility across the lifespan and care dependency in later life.

The phase-3 INDIGO trial demonstrated that the isocitrate dehydrogenase () inhibitor vorasidenib significantly prolonged progression-free survival and delayed intervention in patients with CNS WHO grade 2 gliomas. However, conventional MRI showed limited response, with only 11% of patients having objective responses. Studies suggest that serial PET imaging with radiolabeled amino acids, such as -(2-[ F]-fluoroethyl)-L-tyrosine (FET) PET, may provide earlier and more informative assessments of treatment response than MRI.

Ovarian organoids are essential in female reproductive medicine, enhancing our understanding of ovarian diseases and improving treatments, which benefits women's health. Constructing ovarian organoids involves two main processes: differentiating induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into germ and ovarian somatic cells to restore ovarian function and using extracellular matrix (ECM) to create a suitable ovarian microenvironment and scaffold. Although the technology is still in its early stages, future advancements will likely involve integrating high-throughput analysis, 3D-printed scaffolds, and efficient iPSC induction, driving progress in reproductive and regenerative medicine.
