The primary purpose of the current study was to study the possible pernicious effects of phosphine gas on enzyme activity alterations in to determine its harmfulness to human beings after its prolonged exposure and intake. The saline extract of the adult Khapra beetle was biochemically analyzed at different doses, that is, from 10ppm to 30ppm, to accurately evaluate the effects of various phosphine concentrations (LC and LC) on 2 distinct strains of this insect pest gathered from different godowns of Pakistan as resistant (Chitral [Chi], Haroon Abad [Hbd], and Lahore [Lhr]) and susceptible (Faqeer wali [Fqw], Khanewal [Khw], and Rawalpindi [Rwp]) populations. Our experimental results suggest that the enzyme levels (AcP, AkP, ALAT, ASAT, LDH, and ICDH) seemed to be elevated with increasing dosage of phosphine from 10ppm to 30ppm in the resistant populace of the susceptible ones. It also illustrates that phosphine and its residues can inhibit the workability of certain enzymes that are vital for respiration and neuro reactions in hexapods and mammals. It has detrimental effects of phosphine on human health profile to consume stored food products containing such tenacious enemies.

Poly(4-hydroxybutyrate) (P4HB) is a high-performance, well-recyclable, and biodegradable polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA). However, conventional bioproduction of homopolymeric P4HB involves complex and costly processes with C4 feedstocks, particularly 1,4-butanediol (BDO), and enzyme-coenzyme systems in genetically engineered bacteria. An alternative extracellular chemical route utilizing aerial oxidation of BDO offers cost and energy benefits but struggle with conversion efficiency.

Three distinct n-type semiconductors were derived from a platinum-trialkyl phosphine complex; to lower their LUMO levels, various indene derivatives were incorporated using thiophene (PtTIC ()), thieno[3,2-]thiophene (PtT2IC ()), and 4-cyclopenta[2,1-:3,4-']dithiophene (PtCDTIC ()) as the acetylide donor units. Single-crystal X-ray diffractometry analysis revealed translinear platinum-acetylide complexation in all cases. The strong (═O···S) interactions between the oxygen atoms of the indene acceptor units and the sulfur atoms of the thiophene-derived donor units induced a highly planar orientation among the heterocyclic ligands, featuring π-π interactions between the planes.

The development of effective synthetic methods to construct γ-lactams bearing a chiral α-quaternary carbon from relatively inert C(O)-H bonds with alkenes has been an elusive challenge. Herein, we used a naphthylamine-derived phosphine oxide ligating Ni and Al bimetallic catalyst to realize a carbonylative cyclization of formyl C-H bonds with alkenes, highly regio- and enantioselectively constructing γ-lactams bearing a chiral α-quaternary carbon in up to 99% yield and 98% ee. These γ-lactams proved to be versatile synthetic precursors for many biologically active molecules.

An effective and economical copper-catalyzed approach for the synthesis of phosphorylated 1-isochromenes is reported. This method is the first example of focus on ketone phosphonylation to establish a C-P bond and 6-- cyclization to construct a C-O bond between aryl- and alkyl-substituted alkynylketones and H-phosphinate esters, H-phosphites, and H-phosphine oxides, resulting in chemo- and regioselective phosphorylated 1-isochromenes with moderate to excellent yields under smooth reaction conditions.

The barium complex [Ba{N(SiMe)}] has been used to catalyse the dehydropolymerisation of the phosphine-functionalised hydrosilane 4-PhP-CHSiH (A) with the α,ω-diamine 1,4-(CHNHMe)-CH (C), for the production of -[Si(4-CHPPh)H-N(Me)CH-CH-CHN(Me)]- polycarbosilazanes that contain dangling phosphino groups along the polymer backbone. The comonomers A and C, specifically prepared for this purpose and comprehensively characterised, lend themselves well to barium-promoted dehydrocoupling catalysis. They allow for the formation of linear, amine-capped polymers with molecular weights in the range 4000-8000 g mol, as estimated by DOSY and H end-group NMR analyses.
