Published: June 2022

A bacterial strain designated as G188 was isolated from ginseng field soil in the Republic of Korea. Phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain G188 formed a distinct lineage within the genus family , order . Sequence similarity revealed that strain G188 was most closely related to IR27-S3 (97.7 % 16S rRNA similarity). The genome size of strain G188 was 4 901 775 bp, and the genomic DNA G+C content was 72.3 mol%. The average nucleotide identity and DNA-DNA hybridization values with other species were less than 75.6 and 20.1 %, respectively. The main fatty acids of strain G188 were C, C 8 and iso-C. The major polar lipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, and phosphatidylinositol, and the major respiratory quinone was menaquinone 8, supporting that strain G188 was affiliated with the genus . Based on biochemical, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic analyses, the novel species G188 (KACC 21695=LMG 31733) is proposed.

A new hepatapeptide cholecystokinin (CCK) analog, JMV-180 (Boc-Tyr(SO3-)-Nle-Gly-Trp-Nle-Asp-2-phenylethylester), acts as an agonist at high affinity CCK receptors on rat pancreatic acini to stimulate amylase release but unlike cholecystokinin octapeptide (CCK8) does not act on low affinity CCK receptors to inhibit amylase release (Galas, M. Influence of distension on absorption and villous structure in rat jejunum.

Am J Physiol

January 1989

Pharmakologisches Institut, Universität Tübingen, Federal Republic of Germany.

In urethan-anesthetized rats the appearance rates of urea (U), antipyrine (A), and alpha-methyl-D-glucoside (MG) in the venous blood of perfused jejunal segment were measured in the undistended state and after elevation of the intraluminal pressure up to 10 cmH2O. Serosal and inner cylindrical surface area of the jejunal segment were enlarged by maximally 100 and 150%, respectively. The absorption rates, however, increased only by 34 (U), 28 (A), and 26% (MG).
