Dersimelagon is a novel investigational orally administered selective agonist of the melanocortin-1 receptor. The drug-drug interaction (DDI) potential of dersimelagon was investigated in both nonclinical (in vitro) and clinical studies. The in vitro inhibition of CYP/UGT isoforms and efflux/uptake transporters by dersimelagon was assessed.

Introduction: Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are recommended for pain treatment after elective hip and knee arthroplasties. However, evidence regarding the incidence of adverse effects with short-term NSAID treatment following surgery is limited. We, therefore, aim to assess the adverse effects with an eight-day postoperative treatment with ibuprofen after elective hip and knee arthroplasties.

CT-guided C1-C2 facet joint injections are a valuable tool for managing cervicogenic headaches caused by degenerative and inflammatory conditions of the atlantoaxial joint. This video article presents the procedural technique for a CT-guided C1-C2 facet joint injection in a patient with left-sided cervicogenic headache. Despite concerns regarding potential complications such as vascular injury to the vertebral artery and nerve injury to the C2 dorsal root ganglion, careful anatomic planning and imaging guidance allows safe and effective treatment.

Background/purpose: Dyslipidemia, a hallmark of metabolic syndrome (MetS), contributes to atherosclerotic and cardiometabolic disorders. Due to days-long analysis, current clinical procedures for cardiotoxic blood lipid monitoring are unmet. This study used AI-assisted attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy to identify MetS and precisely quantify multiple blood lipid levels with a blood sample of 0.

Formerly termed or , core muscle injury (CMI) encompasses abnormality of structures within the so-called core, which is essentially the hip, abdomen, and pubis. Compared with data on image-guided procedures of other joints, information regarding procedures performed to address CMI and other disorders of the pubic symphysis is lacking. These procedures can be daunting given the joint's small size, surrounding critical neurovascular structures, and three-dimensional anatomy.
