Two variants of an inflection point (IP) method for analysis of large sets of spectra, acquired in real time during non-plasmonic to plasmonic glass transformation are proposed. One of the variants is based on the time evolution of the spectral inflection point position, IP, while the second one follows the time evolution of the spectral inflection point slope, IP. Both methods yield activation energy (AE) of the metal precipitation in strong agreement with previously reported values, obtained the standard kinetic approaches. The proposed IP methods are blind to the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) band shape. Most importantly, the IP analysis allow for robust uncertainty assessment at every step standard bi-Gaussian fitting. Theoretical association between the proposed IP parameters and the traditional kinetic, and spectral models is elucidated. The IP methodology is applicable to various noble metal nanoparticles in a wide range of sizes and embedded in various dielectric matrices.

Recruitment input-output curves of transspinal evoked potentials that represent the net output of spinal neuronal networks during which cortical, spinal and peripheral inputs are integrated as well as motor evoked potentials and H-reflexes are used extensively in research as neurophysiological biomarkers to establish physiological or pathological motor behavior and post-treatment recovery. A comparison between different sigmoidal models to fit the transspinal evoked potentials recruitment curve and estimate the parameters of physiological importance has not been performed. This study sought to address this gap by fitting eight sigmoidal models (Boltzmann, Hill, Log-Logistic, Log-Normal, Weibull-1, Weibull-2, Gompertz, Extreme Value Function) to the transspinal evoked potentials recruitment curves of soleus and tibialis anterior recorded under four different cathodal stimulation settings.

Laparo-endoscopic hernia surgery is recommended by various international bodies. However, its uptake by general surgeon is low. We aim to assess the impact of Three Dimensional (3D) endovision system in learning laparoscopic transabdominal preperitoneal (TAPP) repair of groin hernia and transferability of skills acquired from 3D to the Two Dimensional (2D) environment.

Background: This study aimed to examine the causal effect between perceived social support and self-management in rural patients with hypertension and to provide a basis for improving self-management.
Methods: A cross-sectional study of 1,091 rural hypertensive patients in Shanxi Province was conducted from March through June 2022 to analyze the factors influencing social support as well as the causal effects of social support and self-management using generalized propensity score matching.
Results: Rural hypertensive patients had a low level of social support (social support score = 0.

Background: It has been demonstrated that older adults' cognitive capacities can be improved with sleep duration. However, the relationship between overweight, obesity, and cognitive decline remains a subject of debate. The impact of sleep duration on cognitive performance in seniors with a body mass index (BMI) ≥ 25 kg/m is largely unknown.
