A dual functional chain transfer agent (CTA) capable of highly efficient sequential thermal and photoinduced ligation, generating α,ω-functional polymers, is introduced. The newly designed CTA (1-(4-((2-formyl-3-methyl phenoxy)methyl)phenyl)ethyl (diethoxyphosphoryl)methane dithioate) fuses thermally triggered hetero Diels-Alder chemistry with rapid light-induced photoenol chemistry. The versatility of the CTA is exemplarily demonstrated via the preparation of an amphiphilic triblock quaterpolymer poly(isoprene--styrene)--poly(ethyl acrylate)--poly(ethylene oxide) (P(I--S)--PEA--PEO). Subsequent to the homopolymerization of ethyl acrylate (PEA), a Cp-functional poly(isoprene--styrene) (P(I--S)) is conjugated with the electron-deficient C═S double bond (dienophile) of the CTA end group, generating a P(I--S)--PEA diblock terpolymer. The triblock quaterpolymer P(I--S)--PEA--PEO is generated by photoligation of a macromolecular dienophile, i.e., the fumarate-terminated poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO-fum) to the photoenol-functional P(I--S)--PEA. The new dual functional ligation RAFT agent constitutes a technology platform for generating α,ω-reactive building blocks from one single chain transfer agent.

Background: Granulosa cell proliferation and survival are essential for normal ovarian function and follicular development. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have emerged as important regulators of cell proliferation and differentiation. Nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) has been implicated in various cellular processes, but its role in granulosa cell function remains unclear.

Background: The variations in alliin content are a crucial criterion for evaluating garlic quality and is the sole precursor for allicin biosynthesis, which is significant for the growth, development, and stress response of garlic. WRKY transcription factors are essential for enhancing stress resistance by regulating the synthesis of plant secondary metabolites. However, the molecular mechanisms regulating alliin biosynthesis remain unexplored.

Approximately 30-50% of SSc patients develop interstitial lung disease (SSc-ILD), with 30-35% of related deaths attributed to it. Even though men are less likely to develop systemic sclerosis, they have a higher incidence of SSc-ILD than women, and they tend to develop it at a younger age with a higher mortality rate.

Purpose: Coronary endarterectomy combined with coronary artery bypass grafting (CE-CABG) effectively achieves coronary revascularization in patients with diffuse atherosclerotic coronary artery disease (CAD). However, the loss of the subendothelial tissue at the CE-CABG coronary artery accelerates local thrombosis, leading to CE-CABG graft failure. Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAT) and warfarin plus aspirin (WPA) are the two most common anticoagulation strategies post CE-CABG.

A self-powered dual-electrode aptasensor was developed for the detection of tumor marker carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA). The composite BiVO/ZnInS, which is capable of forming a Z-scheme heterojunction, was chosen as the photoanode, and the AuNP/CuBiO complex was chosen as the photocathode in photoelectrochemical (PEC) detection. The experiments showed that the constructed self-powered dual-electrode system had a good photoelectric response to white light, and the photocurrent signal of the photocathode was significantly enhanced under the influence of the photoanode.
