Extremely Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Field (ELF MF) therapy is effective in the treatment of injury, inflammation and postoperative complications. Its clinical applications relate to bone unification, pain reduction, soft tissue oedema and the decrease of electric potentials in the oral cavity. It enhances regeneration of periapical bone lesions. It is obvious that cells (leukocytes, platelets, keratinocytes, osteoblasts) and proteins (fibrin, collagen, elastin and growth factors) exhibit alterations when exposed to an Extremely Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Field. The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of an Extremely Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Field (ELF MF) on the parotid gland on the concentration of salivary immunoglobulin A. The study group consisted of 24 patients, aged 14-16, who underwent ELF MF on the parotid gland region. The control group comprised 25 matching persons. The IgA concentration in saliva samples was established using radial immunodiffusion. Following ELF MF, a statistically significant increase in the concentration of secretory immunoglobulin A was found in the study group, whereas in the control group, no statistically significant differences were noted. It can be concluded that an Extremely Low-Frequency Electromagnetic Field increases the activity of the immune system of the parotid gland.

Electroencephalography (EEG) has emerged as a pivotal tool in both research and clinical practice due to its non-invasive nature, cost-effectiveness, and ability to provide real-time monitoring of brain activity. Wearable EEG technology opens new avenues for consumer applications, such as mental health monitoring, neurofeedback training, and brain-computer interfaces. However, there is still much to verify and re-examine regarding the functionality of these devices and the quality of the signal they capture, particularly as the field evolves rapidly.

The objective of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to assess the carcinogenic effects of extremely low frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) by analyzing animal and comet assay studies. We have performed a global meta-analysis on all the animal studies on the relation between ELF-MF and cancer incidence and separate meta-analyses on the incidence of cancer, leukemia, lymphoma, breast cancer, brain cancer and DNA damage assessed with the comet assay. Of the 5145 references identified, 71 studies have been included in our systematic review and 22 studies in our meta-analyses.

This study aimed to compare the effects of cochlear implantation(CI) on vestibular function in patients with large vestibular aqueduct syndrome(LVAS) and in patients with extremely severe deafness with normal inner ear structure. A total of 28 LVAS patients and 28 patients with normal inner ear structure who suffered from extremely severe deafness were selected. The parameters of caloric tests, bone conduction evoked cervical vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials(cVEMP), bone conduction evoked ocular vestibular-evoked myogenic potentials(oVEMP) and video head impulse tests(v-HIT) were compared between the two groups before and after CI.
