Extracranial carotid artery aneurysm (ECAA) is a relatively rare vascular lesion of the neck, and is usually found incidentally and is usually asymptomatic. Surgery is currently the first choice for symptomatic or growing ECAA, including open resection of the entire aneurysm, with or without arterial replacement and insertion of grafts. Ischemic stroke is the most serious complication after resection of ECAA.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common malignant bone tumor affecting adolescents and young adults and it usually occurs in the long bones of the extremities. The detection of cancer-related genetic alterations has a growing effect in guiding diagnosis, prognosis and targeted therapies. However, little is known about the molecular aspects involved in the etiology and progression of OS, which limits options for targeted therapies.

Objectives: Poststroke dysphagia (PSD) is a common complication after stroke but there is limited information on its global prevalence and influencing factors, such as spatial, temporal, demographic characteristics, and stroke-related factors. Our study seeks to fill this knowledge gap by exploring the overall prevalence of PSD and its influencing factors.

Methods: A search of English-language literature from database inception from 2005 until May 2022 was performed using PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and Scopus.

Although Emergency Medicine is now globally an established specialty, the Nordic countries have been relatively slow to implement it into their health care systems. To facilitate the development of EM in the Nordic area, a working group was formed with representation from all national EM societies; DASEM (Danish Society for Emergency Medicine), FiSEM (Finnish Society of Emergency Medicine), ISEM (Icelandic Society for Emergency Medicine), NCEM (Norwegian College of Emergency Medicine), and SWESEM (Swedish Society for Emergency Medicine). This group was tasked with creating a Nordic EM manifesto-to create a definition and developmental goals for Nordic Emergency Medicine.
