Altogether 275 patients with bronchial asthma (BA) were examined for hypothalamo-pituitary-thyroid function by means of clinico-radionuclide and histomorphological studies with measurements in blood of thyrotropin, triiodothyronine, thyroxine, thyroxine-binding globulin, thyroxine efficacy ratio and cholesterol as well as of 131I absorption by the thyroid. Thyroid function was established to undergo biphasic changes. In patients with mild BA, thyroid function was activated in the paroxysmal period.

The system of cerebral circulation was studied in patients after radical surgery for a malignant tumor of extracerebral site shortly (the 1-14th day) and long (over one month) after operation. In addition to the clinical methods, radiocirculography was used to determine mean time of radioactive indicator circulation in cerebral blood vessels. Investigation of 486 patients has shown that cerebrovascular disorders were more frequently noted 1-7 days after extirpation of the uterus with appendages whereas the rate of disorders following gastrectomy or mastectomy within the same time-period was much lower.
