Background And Importance: Traumatic intracranial hemorrhage (tICH) after mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) is not uncommon in the elderly. Often, these patients are admitted to the hospital for observation. The necessity of admission in the absence of clinically important intracranial injuries is however unclear.

Objective: This study aims to explore the clinical significance of long non-coding RNA, myocardial infarction-associated transcript (MIAT), in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Methods: Retrospective inclusion of TBI patients meeting clinical criteria with complete data, alongside healthy controls. RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression of the serum MIAT.

Follicular atresia is the primary threat to female fertility. miRNAs are dysregulated in granulosa cells (GCs) during follicular atresia, and have emerged as crucial regulators of the initiation and progression of follicular atresia. However, the downregulated ovary-elevated (OE) miRNAs and their biological functions in ovary remain elusive.

To increase antibody affinity against pathogens, positively selected GC-B cells initiate cell division in the light zone (LZ) of germinal centers (GCs). Among these, higher-affinity clones migrate to the dark zone (DZ) and vigorously proliferate by utilizing energy provided by oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS). However, it remains unknown how positively selected GC-B cells adapt their metabolism for cell division in the glycolysis-dominant, cell cycle arrest-inducing, hypoxic LZ microenvironment.

Aims: No curative treatment is available for RASopathy-associated childhood-onset hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (RAS-CM). Preclinical data and individual reports suggest a beneficial effect of small molecules targeting the RAS-mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase (MAPK) pathway in severely affected RAS-CM patients. The aim of this study was to evaluate the biophysical effects of trametinib, rapamycin and dasatinib on cultivated myocardial tissue slices of a paediatric RAS-CM patient using biomimetic cultivation chambers (BMCCs) and to correlate the findings with clinical data.
