Mobility, electricity, and parking data for EV infrastructure in the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.

Data Brief

Landscape Architecture and Spatial Planning Group, Department of Environmental Sciences, Wageningen University & Research, the Netherlands.

Published: June 2022

The dataset combines and aggregate five data types of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area in a polygon GIS shapefile with 79 three-digit postcode areas, and a csv file, including the outcome of an origin-destination analysis. The dataset area includes 1661 residential zones ("wijken", in the terminology used by the Dutch Central Bureau for Statistics) of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (AMA), and the data aggregated was originally generated between 2017 and 2019. The first dataset, in format of GIS shapefile, contains data on mobility, parking capacity, electricity demand, census data and cadaster data. The second dataset, csv format, includes the outcomes of an origin-destination analysis between the 79 three-digit postcodes areas in AMA. The two datasets provide the basis for analysis and adaptation of electric mobility in AMA.

Assessing the impact of energy coaching with smart technology interventions to alleviate energy poverty.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Media Technology and Interaction Design, School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Lindstedtsv. 3-5, Stockholm, 100 44, Sweden.

Energy poverty affects 550,000 homes in the Netherlands yet policy interventions to alleviate this issue are rare. Therefore, we test two energy coaching interventions in Amsterdam: a static information group (n = 67) which received energy efficient products and one energy-use report, and a smart information group (n = 50), which also had a display providing real-time feedback on energy-use. Results across both groups, show a 75% success rate for alleviating energy poverty.

Introduction: Aedes-borne arboviral infections, both imported and autochthonous, are reported in Europe. We evaluated the landscape of these infections in Europe over 23 years and attempted to pre-empt the trajectory of impact of these infections in the climatic context of Aedes mosquito expansion in Europe.

Methods: This systematic review was conducted in accordance with PRISMA guidelines and registered in Prospero (CRD42023360259).

Identifying outcomes that matter most is key in driving specialized paediatric burn care. The aim of this study was to discover the most important outcomes for paediatric burns. Parents of children (0-3 year and 4-11 years old) and adolescents (12-17 yearss old) completed surveys to identify outcomes that matter most in the short-term (<6 months postburn) and long-term (6-24 months postburn).

Background: To combat the high prevalence of physical inactivity among children, there is an urgent need to develop and implement real-world interventions and policies that promote physical activity (PA) and reduce sedentary behaviour (SB). To inform policy makers, the current body of evidence for children's PA/SB interventions needs to be translated.

Objectives: The current systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to identify modifiable determinants of device-measured PA and SB targeted in available intervention studies with randomized controlled trial (RCT) and controlled trial (CT) designs in children and early adolescents (5-12 years) and to quantify the effects of the interventions within their respective settings on the determinants of PA/SB and the outcomes PA and SB.
