Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) can be classified as « resistant » or « difficult to treat » when there is no response to multiple lines of treatment and/or persistent symptoms that reduce the patients quality of life. Resistant RA represents a high-risk population for comorbidities. These patients often have more comorbidities, more extra-articular manifestations of their RA, have more disadvantaged social backgrounds, and frequently receive fewer conventional disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs.

In recent years, progress in the field of care has made prematurity an increasingly frequent phenomenon. The premature newborn, due to incompetence, is often subjected to parenteral nutrition (PN) for prolonged periods, and there may be several complications associated with it, first and foremost metabolic complications. In particular, the aim of this study was to evaluate how specific risk factors and/or auxological parameters influenced plasma variations in calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium levels.

(1) Background/Objectives: Women with hamartoma tumor syndrome (PHTS) face a significantly increased risk of breast cancer (up to 66%) and a high prevalence of benign breast lesions (30-75%), which can complicate cancer detection and underscore the need for effective surveillance strategies. This study aimed to evaluate the imaging characteristics of breast cancers and benign breast lesions using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and mammography, with the goal of improving early cancer detection, reducing unnecessary biopsies, and guiding future surveillance protocols. (2) Methods: This retrospective single-institution study included 65 PHTS women aged ≥18 years (2001-2021), 39 of whom participated in a high-risk breast cancer surveillance program.

Care of the extremely premature infant has been in constant state of re-evaluation as the population, technologies and knowledge continue to evolve. A growing population of extremely low gestational age neonates (ELGAN - <28 weeks) and "nanopremies" (<24 weeks) are undergoing successful resuscitation, stabilization, and intensive care leading to improved survival. Respiratory care is the cornerstone of ELGAN management, as their lungs are at a critical stage of development.

In 1965, Hakim and Adams described 3 patients with normal pressure hydrocephalus who responded to treatment with a ventriculoatrial shunt. Afterward the adoption of shunt treatment without clear diagnostic criteria and surgical techniques resulted in poor outcomes with significant complications. The clinical practice guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus were first published by the Japanese Neurosurgical Society in 2004 and the international guidelines were published in 2005.
