Objective: This study aims to evaluate the short-term efficacy of right-to-left shunt closure in vestibular migraine patients, and compare the efficacy between patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure and pulmonary arteriovenous malformation (PAVM) embolization. Additionally, the study identifies factors related to surgical outcomes.
Methods: Forty-one patients with vestibular migraine and medium to large right-to-left shunts underwent surgery: PFO closure, PAVM embolization, or both.

Ischemic stroke, accounting for approximately 80% of all stroke cases, remains a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Effective management of ischemic stroke is heavily influenced by its etiology, which can range from large-artery atherosclerosis and cardiac embolism to cerebral small-vessel occlusions and cryptogenic strokes. Cardioembolic stroke, which makes up about 30% of ischemic strokes, often leads to more severe symptoms and worse outcomes, necessitating anticoagulation therapy for prevention.

Introduction: Patent foramen ovale (PFO) patients may experience states of hypoxia and hypoperfusion, which may increase the burden of enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS). However, to our knowledge, no data are available regarding EPVS in PFO patients. This study sought to investigate if patients with PFO exhibit a heightened burden of EPVS and to identify the mediating factors between PFO and EPVS.

Purpose: To evaluate outcomes of ultracomplex retinal detachment (UCRD) repairs performed at a large county hospital.
Materials And Methods: Retrospective chart review of patients who underwent a UCRD repair, defined as a funnel retinal detachment (RD), RD associated with ocular trauma, or RD requiring retinectomy, 5000 centistoke silicone oil or perfluorocarbon heavy liquid (PFO). The outcomes examined were visual acuity (VA), anatomic success, and phthisis development.

The mitigation of high levels of phosphate (PO) and nitrate (NO) ions in water bodies, particularly in agricultural wastewater, holds paramount importance in curbing eutrophication within aquatic ecosystems. Herein, using experimental and computational techniques, the study explored the potential of naturally occurring South Africa heulandite (HEU) zeolite for the removal of PO and NO ions from synthetic wastewater in batch mode. The percentage removal of PO and NO was 59.
