Early and accurate diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) is key to effective outbreak management, and in humans thoracic radiography is used extensively for screening purposes. In wildlife TB radiography is a relatively accessible diagnostic tool, particularly in under-resourced settings, however its use is limited by body size. Sun bears are susceptible to human-associated TB, and their small body size makes thoracic radiography feasible.

Background: Antigen 85B (Ag85B) is a signature antigen of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB). In this study, we aimed to investigate the impact of macrophages stimulated with Ag85B on bronchial epithelial cells and T cells, as well as the underlying mechanisms involved.
Methods: We used Ag85B to stimulate macrophage and investigated the impact of Ag85B on macrophage polarization.

Mediastinal tuberculosis poses significant diagnostic challenges due to its nonspecific clinical and radiological features, particularly in high TB incidence regions like Indonesia. Here, we present the case of A 17-year-old male, initially diagnosed with a mediastinal tumor, was later confirmed to have mediastinal tuberculosis (TB). Despite normal lab results, imaging revealed a right parahilar mass.

However, its prevalence, incidence, and impact on long-term prognosis remain uncertain. We evaluated the incidence of clinically significant hemoptysis, and determined its association with mortality in patients with NTM-PD.
