Background: Triple-negative breast cancer is a particularly aggressive type of breast cancer that is closely associated with abnormal vascularization within the tumor. However, traditional anti-VEGF therapies and other treatments have limited efficacy. Tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) induce and regulate tumor angiogenesis.

Background: Fibromyalgia (FM) is characterized by chronic pain, significantly affecting the quality of life and functional capabilities of patients. In addition to pain, patients may experience insomnia, chronic fatigue, depression, anxiety, and headaches, further complicating their overall well-being. The Transient Receptor Potential Vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) receptor responds to various noxious stimuli and plays a key role in regulating pain sensitivity and inflammation.

Objective: Electroacupuncture has been shown to play a neuroprotective role following ischemic stroke, but the underlying mechanism remains poorly understood. Ferroptosis has been shown to play a key role in the injury process. In the present study, we wanted to explore whether electroacupuncture could inhibit ferroptosis by promoting nuclear factor erythroid-2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) nuclear translocation.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: The aim of this study was to investigate the role of ferroptosis in the occurrence of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) using a mouse model and to elucidate whether electroacupuncture (EA) can improve POCD by suppressing ferroptosis via the transferrin receptor 1 (TFR1)-divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1)-ferroportin (FPN) pathway.
Methods: The experiment involved three groups: the control group, the POCD group and the POCD + EA group. The POCD animal model was established using sevoflurane anesthesia and tibial fracture.

During the process of acute lung injury (ALI) associated with sepsis, the α7nAChR in the cholinergic anti-inflammatory pathway (CAP) plays a crucial role. However, the roles of electroacupuncture (EA) and specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs) in this context remain unclear. In this study, we demonstrated that EA activates CAP via α7nAChR, reducing lung permeability and inflammatory cytokine release.
