Published: June 2022

Herein, we report the transition-metal-free O-arylation of alcohols and phenols with -arylphenothiaziniums, which can be easily synthesized from boronic acids. Aryl substituents derived from arylboronic acids were selectively introduced into the hydroxy groups in alcohols and phenols, and a variety of aryl ethers were synthesized. This selectivity is supported by theoretical calculations.

Astrocytes from different brain regions respond with Ca elevations to the catecholamine norepinephrine (NE). However, whether this noradrenergic-mediated signaling is present in astrocytes from the ventral tegmental area (VTA), a dopaminergic circuit receiving noradrenergic inputs, has not yet been investigated. To fill in this gap, we applied a pharmacological approach along with two-photon microscopy and an AAV strategy to express a genetically encoded calcium indicator in VTA astrocytes.

Objective: To evaluate the shear strength of adhesives based on the type of solvent (ethanol and acetone), aged and light-cured using light-emitting diode (LED) units with different wavelengths. Polywave and monowave LED units were employed for this study.

Materials And Methods: Ninety bovine tooth samples were analyzed using OptiBond Universal adhesive (acetone) and single bond universal adhesive (ethanol).

Microbe-Assisted Phytoremediation (MAP) is an eco-friendly method for remediating soil contaminated with heavy metals such as cadmium (Cd) and chromium (Cr). This study demonstrates the potential of a king grass-Serratia marcescens strain S27 (KS) co-symbiotic system to enhance heavy metal remediation. The KS symbiosis increased the biomass of king grass by 48 % and enhanced the accumulation of Cd and Cr in the whole plant by 2.
