The metal/germanium (Ge) photodetectors have attracted much attention for their potential applications in on-chip optoelectronics. One critical issue is the relatively large dark current due to the limited Schottky potential barrier height of the metal/germanium junction, which is mainly caused by the small bandgap of Ge and the Fermi energy level pinning effect between the metal and Ge. The main technique to solve this problem is to insert a thin interlayer between the metal and Ge. However, so far, the dark current of the photodetectors is still large when using a bulk-material insertion layer, while when using a two-dimensional insertion layer, the area of the insertion layer is too small to support a mass production. Here, we report a gold/graphene/germanium photodetector with a wafer-scale graphene insertion layer using a 4 inch graphene-on-germanium wafer. The insertion layer significantly increases the potential barrier height, leading to a dark current as low as 1.6 mA cm, and a responsivity of 1.82 A Wwhich are the best results for metal/Ge photodetectors reported so far. Our work contributes to the mass production of high-performance metal/Ge photodetectors.

Layered sulfide crystals are suitable hosts for lithium and sodium ions in batteries. In this study, new layered lithium titanium sulfide (LTS) crystals were grown in a sealed silica tube using a LiS self-flux at 800-950 °C. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis results indicated the formation of a new sulfide phase with higher symmetry in the Li-Ti-S system.

Bulk Acoustic Wave (BAW) filters find applications in radio frequency (RF) communication systems for Wi-Fi, 3G, 4G, and 5G networks. In the beyond-5G (potential 6G) era, high-frequency bands (>8 GHz) are expected to require resonators with high-quality factor (Q) and electromechanical coupling ( ) to form filters with low insertion loss and high selectivity. However, both the Q and of resonator devices formed in traditional uniform polarization piezoelectric films of aluminum nitride (AlN) and aluminum scandium nitride (AlScN) decrease when scaled beyond 8 GHz.

Innovative anode materials are essential for achieving high-energy-density lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) with longer lifetimes. Thus far, only a few studies have explored the use of layered perovskite structures as LIB anode materials. In this study, the study demonstrates the performance and charge/discharge mechanism of the previously undefined Ruddlesden-Popper Li₂La₂Ti₃O₁₀ (RPLLTO) as an anode material for LIBs.

Realizing spin-orbit torque (SOT)-driven magnetization switching offers promising opportunities for the advancement of next-generation spintronics. However, the relatively low charge-spin conversion efficiency accompanied by an ultrahigh critical switching current density () remains a significant obstacle to the further development of SOT-based storage elements. Herein, spin absorption engineering at the ferromagnet/nonmagnet interface is firstly proposed to achieve high SOT efficiency in Pt/Co/Ir trilayers.

Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of Sub-periosteal Peri-implant Augmented Layer (SPAL) technique performed with deproteinized bovine bone mineral (DBBM), delivered either as particulate (pDBBM) or block (bDBBM), in correcting a peri implant bone dehiscence (PIBD). Implants showing a thick (≥ 2 mm) peri-implant buccal bone plate (PBBP) at placement were also examined.
Material And Methods: Patients with a PIBD ≥ 1 mm, treated with SPAL with either pDBBM (SPAL) or bDBBM (SPAL), and patients with an implant showing a PBBP ≥ 2 mm at insertion (CONTROL) were included.
