Achieving dual functionalities of hydrophobicity and excellent microwave transmission in a single material remains a significant challenge, especially for advanced applications in aerospace, telecommunications, and navigation engineering. Inspired by natural designs like chestnut burrs, bioinspired polyaniline (PANI) particles with tunable micro-/nanostructures through a facile template-free polymerization process have been developed. By regulating the polarity of the reaction system, temperature, and reaction time, various hierarchical structures, including cross-linked nanosheets, chestnut burr-like spheres, and starburst flower-like structures, are synthesized.

Dielectric-based energy storage capacitors characterized with fast charging and discharging speed and reliability play a vital role in cutting-edge electrical and electronic equipment. In pursuit of capacitor miniaturization and integration, dielectrics must offer high energy density and efficiency. Antiferroelectrics with antiparallel dipole configurations have been of significant interest for high-performance energy storage due to their negligible remanent polarization and high maximum polarization in the field-induced ferroelectric state.

In recent years, the theoretical description of electrical noise and fluctuation-induced effects in electrolytes has gained renewed interest, enabled by stochastic field theories like stochastic density functional theory (SDFT). Such models, however, treat solvents implicitly, ignoring their generally polar nature. In the present study, starting from microscopic principles, we derive a fully explicit SDFT theory that applies to ions in a polar solvent.

It is a major challenge to obtain broadband microwave absorption (MA) properties using low dielectric or magnetic nanoparticle-decorated carbon composites due to the limited single conductive loss or polarization loss of the carbon materials used as substrates. Novel pure cellulose-derived graphite carbon (CGC) materials can be used as an exceptional substrate option due to their special defective graphitic carbon structure, which provides both conduction and polarization loss. Herein, CGC@ZnO composites were first synthesized by atomic layer deposition (ALD) for use as microwave absorbents.

Metamaterials hold great promise for application in the field of perfect absorbers due to their remarkable ability to manipulate electromagnetic waves. In this work, a full-spectrum ultra-wideband solar absorber with a multilayer metal-dielectric stacked structure is designed. Our absorber is simple and easy to manufacture, with Ti serving as the substrate, overlaid with SiN spacer layers and four pairs of Ti-SiN ring columns.
