Two new phenylpropanoids ( and ) and one new isoflavone glycoside (), along with nine known compounds (-), were isolated from the pod of L. Their chemical structures were elucidated based on extensive spectroscopic analyses (1 D and 2 D NMR, UV, IR, and HRESIMS) and compared with the literature data. In addition, all isolated compounds were evaluated for inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase (AChE). Compounds , , and showed inhibitory activity against acetylcholinesterase (AChE) with IC values ranging from 15.0 to 50.2 μM.

Buckwheat possesses significant nutritional content and contains different bioactive compounds, such as total flavonoids, which enhance its appeal to consumers. This study employed single-factor experiments and the response surface methodology to identify the optimal germination conditions for enhancing the total flavonoid content in buckwheat sprouts through ultraviolet-B treatment. The research showed that buckwheat sprouts germinated for 3 days at a temperature of 28.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the genes related to flavonoid synthesis, regulation, and transport in a plant species called Ilex asprella, identifying 28,478 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) across leaf, stem, and root tissues.
  • A detailed analysis reveals specific patterns of gene expression for flavonoid pathways, indicating that different pathways are dominant in different plant tissues: roots are more active in stilbenes and anthocyanins, while leaves focus on flavonols, and stems are associated with isoflavones.
  • The research highlights the presence of key regulatory genes and transporters in these pathways and notes the lack of certain genes necessary for producing specific flavonoids, providing insights valuable for medicinal

Elucidating the key genes and metabolites responsible for fruit skin color is essential for the breeding of strawberry varieties with beautiful fruit color. Here, transcriptome and metabolome analyses were used to identify the key genes and metabolites associated with fruit skin color in strawberry accessions of red skin (Kaorino), white skin (2012-W02), and the pink skin (Fenyu NO.1, the F1 hybrid of Kaorino and 2012-W02).
