Triggering the anionic redox reaction is an effective approach to boost the capacity of layered transition metal (TM) oxides. However, the irreversible oxygen release and structural deterioration at high voltage remain conundrums. Herein, a strategy for Mg ion and vacancy dual doping with partial TM ions pinned in the Na layers is developed to improve both the reversibility of anionic redox reaction and structural stability of layered oxides.

Because the discovery of the multivesicular body (MVB) as the origin of secreted vesicles or exosomes, the question arose and still looms-what distinguishes an MVB destined for fusion with the plasma membrane (EXO-MVB) facilitating exosome release from an MVB involved in transport of content to the lysosome (LYSO-MVB). Do they have independent origins? Hence, the two-body problem. We hypothesize that a key to this conundrum is the membrane spanning V0 sector of the proton pump, V0V1-ATPase.

D-amino acids, found in excess in a minority of organisms and crucial for marine invertebrates, contrast with the more common L-amino acids in most life forms. The local prebiotic origin of D-amino acid enantiomeric excess in natural systems remains an unsolved conundrum. Herein, we demonstrate the formation of enantiomeric excess (ee) D-amino acids through photocatalytic reductive amination of α-keto acids on natural pyrite.

Abdominal actinomycosis is a rare disease caused by the bacteria. We report a case series of two similar cases with a mismatch between the initial differential diagnosis, the radiological findings, the surgical findings, and the actual histological result. The first case is a 25-year-old woman with a month's history of right-sided abdominal pain.

Malignant melanoma is a formidable tumor originating from melanocytes of neural crest origin, found in various anatomical locations, primarily in the skin, followed by the eyes and mucosal membranes. This tumor stands out due to its remarkable phenotypic diversity. Transdifferentiation, the process of differentiation into cell lineages other than the one from which the tumor originated, and phenotypic plasticity, characterized by changes in behavior, morphology, and physiology in response to different environmental conditions, can make melanoma a diagnostic conundrum for unwary pathologists.
