Abstract: Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a severe complication of diabetes. Due to conservative or delayed treatment, the majority of DFU patients frequently miss the optimal treatment window, thereby leading to amputation. Despite being a rare pathogen with low virulence, () exhibits some antibiotic resistance and can be fatal for immunocompromised patients.

Background: Development of ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP) is attributed to the microaspiration of pooled secretions around the cuff of airway devices. Despite the emphasis on the use of endotracheal tubes (ET) with subglottic secretion (SS) drainage ports to prevent VAP, the quality of the evidence for this recommendation remains moderate. This prospective observational study analyzed microbiological concordance between SS and endotracheal aspirate (ETA) cultures to generate further evidence in this regard.

Adenovirus is a common pathogen responsible for respiratory infections, including pneumonia, predominantly in pediatric populations but also in immunocompromised adults. This case report details an 18-year-old immunocompetent male presenting with severe lobar pneumonia and pleural effusion, initially suggesting a bacterial origin. Despite antibiotic treatment, the patient's symptoms persisted, prompting further investigation.

Background: Evaluation of primary care allows for identification of problems in the healthcare system, such as poor health outcomes, inappropriate health services, overuse of unnecessary resources, or underuse of recommended strategies. Assessment of adherence to existing clinical practice guidelines as quality indicators is critical for evaluating the effectiveness of primary care and shaping healthcare policies.
Objectives: To determine the adherence of primary care providers to existing practice guidelines for common pediatric concerns in remote, rural, and urban areas in the Philippines.

Multidrug-resistant (MDR) poses a significant therapeutic challenge due to its resistance to multiple antibiotics and its ability to form biofilm. This study aimed to characterize MDR isolates for their biofilm-forming capabilities and the presence of common biofilm-related genes at a tertiary care university hospital in Nepal. In addition, it assessed the efficacy of various compounds, particularly essential oils, in inhibiting biofilm formation.
