Only 0.3-1% of laryngeal cancer are non-squamous cell neoplasms. Of these, a rare entity is inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour (IMT), in which anaplastic lymphoma kinase-1 (ALK-1) is frequently expressed. Just 50 cases of IMT have been reported. Therefore, many otolaryngologists may be unfamiliar with this type of tumour and be prone to its over- or undertreatment. We report a case of ALK-1-negative IMT treated with transoral endoscopic excision and disease-free 6 months after surgery.

This case presents a curious diagnosis in a young male presenting with chest pain. The first imaging tests suggested the presence of a hypovascular left atrial tumor. After cardiac magnetic resonance and the exclusion of extra-cardiac lesions, sarcoma emerged as the main diagnostic hypothesis.

Background And Purpose: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is characterised by inflammation, which can lead to tubular atrophy and fibrosis. The molecular mechanisms are not well understood. In this study, we investigated the functional role of the cyclic GMP-AMP synthase (cGAS)- stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signalling in renal inflammation and fibrosis.

Rationale: Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumor (IMT) is a rare soft tissue neoplasm with low malignant potential. These patients present with a certain probability of malignant potential. The management of IMT has not been standardized, especially for the patients with fertility needs.

Thyroid cancer progression from curable well-differentiated thyroid carcinoma to highly lethal anaplastic thyroid carcinoma is distinguished by tumor cell de-differentiation and recruitment of a robust stromal infiltrate. Combining an integrated thyroid cancer single-cell sequencing atlas with spatial transcriptomics and bulk RNA-sequencing, we define stromal cell subpopulations and tumor-stromal cross-talk occurring across the histologic and mutational spectrum of thyroid cancer. We identify distinct inflammatory and myofibroblastic cancer-associated fibroblast (iCAF and myCAF) populations and perivascular-like populations.

Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and Research Institute for Veterinary Science, Seoul National University, Seoul, Republic of Korea.

This study aimed to design and evaluate a novel trans-bleb device (TBD) for draining aqueous humor trapped within fibrotic blebs following Ahmed glaucoma valve (AGV) implantation in dogs. Two clinically normal, purpose-bred Beagles underwent AGV implantation surgery in one eye. When a bleb was formed with increased intraocular pressure (IOP), the TBD was inserted through a fenestration created in the bleb.
