Although polymer-coated controlled-release fertilizers have been under development for decades, their high costs, complex production processes, and potential environmental hazards have limited their application. Therefore, it is necessary to design and develop new materials for controlled nutrient release. In this study, two novel MOFs, compounds I and II, were successfully fabricated and optimized using ferric chloride, phosphoric acid, citric acid, and urea under hydrothermal conditions. The N, P, and Fe contents in compound I were 9.05%, 14.92%, and 14.55%, respectively, while the corresponding values in compound II were 10.78%, 14.10%, and 16.68%. The soil incubation results revealed that both compounds showed good slow-release longevity (more than 100 days). This study provides a new strategy for the fabrication of novel controlled-release fertilizers.

The COVID-19 pandemic, caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, has spurred an extraordinary scientific effort to better understand the disease's pathophysiology and develop diagnostic and prognostic tools to guide more precise and effective clinical management. Among the biological samples analyzed for biomarker identification, urine stands out due to its low risk of infection, non-invasive collection, and suitability for frequent, large-volume sampling. Integrating data from omics studies with standard biochemical analyses offers a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of COVID-19.

Background: In recent years, titanium dioxide (TiO) nanoparticles (NPs) have been widely used in various industries due to their favorable chemical properties, and their contamination of the environment has attracted much attention, especially to aquatic animals.
Methods: Therefore, we assessed the impact of TiO NPs (5 mg/L) on the marine bivalve, pearl oyster (), especially gill metabolism. Pearl oysters were exposed to seawater containing 5 mg/L TiO NPs for 14 days, followed by 7 days of recovery in untreated seawater.

Pyruvate carboxylase (PC) catalyzes the carboxylation of pyruvate to oxaloacetate which serves as an important anaplerotic reaction to replenish citric acid cycle intermediates. In most organisms, the PC-catalyzed reaction is allosterically activated by acetyl-coenzyme A.
