Collagen is a promising material for corneal tissue engineering. The surface topography of collagen is critical for cornea reconstruction and regeneration. Herein, we fabricated collagen films with microgrooved surface to investigate the effect of collagen film topography on corneal cell migration and antifibrosis. We found that the patterned films with microscale grooves could greatly affect the orientation, proliferation, migration, and gene expression of rabbit corneal epithelial cells and keratocytes. Compared with the natural cornea, the optimized collagen films with microgroove pattern show similar swelling performance, optical clarity, and biodegradability, which could efficiently promote the epithelial cell migration, accelerate wound healing process, and inhibit the fibrosis of keratocytes. These results suggest that collagen films with microgroove pattern are promising in corneal tissue engineering.

Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapies have revolutionized the landscape of cancer treatment, in particular in the context of hematologic malignancies. However, for solid tumors that lack tumor-specific antigens, CAR-T cells can infiltrate and attack nonmalignant tissues expressing the CAR target antigen, leading to on-target, off-tumor toxicity. Aim: To evaluate the clinical effectiveness of ozonated sunflower oil (Oz) as an adjunctive of non-surgical periodontal therapy in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM2), on fibroblast cell viability and migration and the effectiveness of Oz on a Candida albicans (C. albicans) culture.

Primary sclerosing cholangitis is one of the most challenging conditions in hepatology, and due to our limited understanding of its pathogenesis, no causal therapies are currently available. While it was long assumed that a minority of people with IBD also develop PSC, which is sometimes labeled an extraintestinal manifestation of IBD, the clinical phenotype, genetic and intestinal microbiota associations strongly argue for PSC-IBD being a distinct form of IBD, existing alongside ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. In fact, the liver itself could contribute to intestinal pathology, clinically overt in 60 - 80 % of patients.
